Thanks.....I'll give that a try. This product comes primarily from Europe , correct? Has anyone had any personal experience with it? Is it an effective pain reliever?

Dihydrocodeine is an effective pain killer, has almost exactly the same effects as codeine.
The only real diferrance is that a 30mg pill of dihydrocodeine has the same effect as 60mg of codeine(basicly its double strength codeine).
I suppoose they'd be an advantage if you had a tolerance coz it would save you swallowing so many pills.

Thanks for your help. I wasn't certain how it compared to codeine except I thought it was a bit stronger.

DHC is as strong as hydro and is also time released. i take 4 dhc 60's compared to 6 hydros. phamatico.com, medscorp.com and pharmagroup.com have didor continus its expensive and all three co.'s have been very unreliable lately. medscorp ripped me once and still waiting on my pharmagroup order. it seems spain is becoming as bad as usa since it looks like DHC will be gone for good soon.

Pharm88 has DHC and is very reliable, however theirs is not time released. Personally, I don't think DHC is even close to the strength of Hydro. YMMV

Their similarity is mostly in the name, not in their effects.

Just took a single DI 60 mg dose. Seems to have about the same effect as regular codeine. Not knocking me on my Best if kept off the board. Took it about 6 hours ago.I have a low tolerance to Cod in general.
Like everyone else in DB world would like to have an IOP reliable hydro resource since med records don't show obvious need (as if playing 18 years of football wasn't justification enough.) Will try increasing dosage of DiHy to see effects.
Keep ya'll posted.
Thanks to all you old timers for all your help!

Hi Rainydays, I think if you would like to take a holiday from hydro dihydrocodeine would sure take the edge off the withdrawls, it did for me. I know everyone is different so try & see what you think. Dihydrocodeine helps me when I have noting else to take.
PS. im so sorry to hear about your dog. Hope she is doing better?

tammy...thanks for your info of the hydro....i have never taken a holiday before, but when i do, this info will be very helpful to me....also, thanks for the support concerning my dog tootsie....it was a stressful weekend around here but she pulled through and is on the road to recovery...the vet said he was amazed by the size of her uterus...it weighed nearly 5 pounds and at first they thought it was full of puppies because of its size...then they seen it was full of infection and blood and they had a hard time stopping the bleeding....the first 2 hours following surgery she was in very critical condition and the vet said she may need a blood transfusion and that i should round up some family members dog to be a donor...(gosh i never knew they could do all this for an animal)
her recovery was rapid and they did not do a transfusion but during the middle of the night the vet had checked on her and she was fine but by the time he got there in the morning she had gained enough strength to pull her iv out....they wanted to keep her there the rest of the weekend but i insisted i bring her home for the remainder of her recovery and she is now doing great!
my thanks to all of you who prayed for her! rainy

Personally, DHC works better for my migraines than either hydro (norco 10/325) or codeine (which does virtually nothing). I've always ordered it very reliably from Pharm88 and most of the times have received in approx. two weeks, if not less. BUT I just checked their website and they're not taking orders for awhile due to updating their payment system or something like that--can't remember exactly what it said. I just hope they're not gone for good. I'm disappointed to say the least...
Pharm88 has been the only source upon which I feel I can fully rely for my DHC and they respond to emails very quickly.
I've emailed and requested to order from biotran but for some reason he says he's not selling DHC for now. I told him I didn't even want a sample--just to place an order. From what I've read on here he seems very trustworthy, as he does place much trust in others. So again.....disappointment. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong regarding getting him to sell to me, as most seem to have no problem.
I know effects of these drugs vary from person to person but this drug really does work better for my migraines than any other I've tried besides Imitrex injections; unfortunately these only work for about two hours then the migraine is back--usually in the other eye. And the injections are very cost prohibitive considering the $$$ spent PER migraine!
I just HOPE DHC isn't beginning to disappear and become unavailable.....

DHC apparenly is a controlled substance in spain now. no longer available in pharmacies w/o scripts. medscorp and pharmatico offer it but i never received anything from either. pharmagroup has it but i hear they are unreliable too.
