My package also was from Unipharm, said Unipharm on the return address - no reference to NWW anywhere on the outside of the package. It was packaged quite well - very thick bubble packed envelope, lots of cotton. Definitely better than the old St. Pete's packaging.

My problem was that the FedEx shipping said it was being delivered to the wrong town, when in fact it wasnt (and didn't). Caused a few uncomfortable moments, but Chris and staff did all they could to help. (Turns out it was a FedEx error on their tracking). Sorry, got off topic - the Unipharm packaging was just fine! Have a great week all!

How does the pharmacy get the address information ? Best way would be for the shipping information provided in a customer's NWW profile to be transmitted directly to the pharmacy -- this would avoid any typos on the part of the clinician writing the prescriptions, and allow the clinician to focus on the medications he or she is prescribing. So on original consult orders the shipping information would be provided in the customer profile, and on refills, the shipping information comes up and can be reviewed and confirmed before the refill is placed.

I'm not sure, but sometimes Fedex and other companies, use a zip code to determine the city or town of an address, and sometimes the correct zip code actually corresponds to a town / township / borough , etc., that is different from the official one associated with the zip code. Maybe that's what happened to the above poster. But at the very least, NWW must get the addresses right, and I do think they are doing so.

My zip code was one number off a few times, then after I spoke to the PA about it during consult, it was corrected that time, but then was wrong again the next time?? It didn't affect my deliveries at all, somehow, they must just look at the city/ address if the zip doesn't match.

Firefly, I do think more people are aware since the high profile of Rush Limbaugh's case and shipping providers can't help but notice when it is obvious packaging. I may be wrong, but doesn't Fed Ex supply the envelopes/boxes for free? If so, it would be great for the pharmacies to put the bottles in the box with a glob of wrap/paper and seal. That would be more time effective than a box and the envelope, wouldn't ya think? As it is now, they put cotton in the bottle, then wrap the bottle in bubble wrap, tape and then put in the envelope and it still is apparent what it is.

Also, reading Chris' post about the owners/costs situation. He mentioned perhaps lowering the consult pricing. Since the PA's do the follow-up consults, perhaps those consults should be lowered. That's my 2 cents.

St Pete’s shipping says St. Pete’s on the label because they will not use our account. This is a problem for you in the long run, not us.

If NWW controls the shipping account then we can control your packages. Don't you think that a NWW CS saying, “Sure Mr./ Mrs. blahdeblah, I can hold you package at the hub”, or “Sure, let me re-route that to your new address”, or “Sure we can up that to Saturday delivery,” is better than NWW saying, "We will try, but it is really out of our hands." St. Pete’s is required to use our account now, and they will be using it before the week is out.

As for the name on the label, I have changed it to: FCS First Call. That should pretty much remove any thought of it coming from a Pharmacy. We will be using boxes for all shipping.

I am going put up the cost for St. Pete’s and the Cost for Uni-pharm, so you can make the choice.

-Chris

Chris--

I have had a very disappointing day with NWW. I detailed it in a PM, but everything that could go wrong did. Since NO ONE was available or responding all day during business hours, I think I am out of luck. Not at all what I was expecting after all of the wonderful remarks on the board.

I've never had a problem with St. Pete's. Shipping, product or their name on the envelope. It actually sounds "quite heavenly"! I'm not sure if you were directing your post to me or just clicked on my post to get info into this thread. And, I'd like to put this out there - I feel quite lucky because I've never run into any problems at all with NWW, even over the holidays.

I know it's not always possible, but if at all possible, everyone, please allow a couple of extra days for everything, consults, refills, etc. That way, if there's a delay on NWW's part or at the pharmacy or Fedex (someone posted about a Fedex truck breaking down), or the weather, etc. etc., you'll be all right. That's the approach I take and it has worked for me.

I've also been happy with St. Pete's. No problem with the name. Old packaging was awful (thin paper Fedex envelope with pill bottle inside) ; new packaging is GREAT -- with the small cardboard box. I have gotten the Able brand medication, which for me has been fine. So at least for now I'm giving a thumbs up to St. Pete's !

I've used NWW in the past and I agree with everyone on putting the meds in a box. The way they were being shipped from St. Pete's screams "these are pills". Not only do I not want my FedEx or UPS driver to know what I am receiving, it's a flag to a dishonest hub worker that there is medication in that package and perhaps it's something they can "use". It's just not a smart way to ship. It's like sending cash through the mail in a windowed envelope. Nobody would do that, so why is our medication shipped in an obvious way?

I guess it's common practice though. I also use a mail order pharmacy for a compounded topical cream prescribed by my gynecologist. I used to use the compounding pharmacy here, but the pharmacist decided to shout out the name of the drug and directions to where to apply it, in front of a line of customers and I was humiliated. So I now order it from Women's International over the net. They ship in those flimsy envelopes as well, and it says Women's International Pharmacy for the return address. It's obvious it is a drug, but if anyone opened it looking for something "fun". they'd be pretty disappointed in what they find. Still, I wish that they would package it in a small box. It's a controlled substance and they don't even make it signature required. Guess they feel nobody would want to steal a hormone cream.

Kar,

I am forgetting to check this thread; come up to the NWW thread.

So, I have spent 2 days, getting boxes for you? I thought St. Pete's was sending boxes now?

So, I have 10,000 envelopes, 20,000 boxes....Does anyone have any suggestions?

Go to NWW thread--

-Chris
