Board & site changes. What do you think?
      #141174 - 02/23/04 08:34 PM

We are making a lot of changes to the boards and site in general. Many more changes are on the way.

What do you think of the changes. Do you like the new features?

Please let us know how you feel about the changes.

Thanks

Well, I generally like all of them, especially all of the new emoticons!! (the are slow to load, though)

However, what is "Gral" as in "Questions, Comments, and GRAL Info?"

I think the changes so far are great. It's nice to have more graemlins and the calendar is nice. Also the individual area for the IOP's and OP's. Keep up the good work turcica

I miss the Mark All Read button. I don't usually read every single forum, and from time to time, I like to clear all those older posts as read, even if I haven't looked at them. Could you please bring back the function that allows me to clear all posts as read.

Thank you.

So far, I like them ALOT! It makes the whole board seem much more organized. Way to go, DB!

It took me awhile, but that was the conclusion I came to also.

I like that the stars are gone and I like the "number viewing" info on each forum.

BUT I STILL CAN'T STAND THE ARBITRARY MODERATION HAPPENING ON THIS BOARD. PERHAPS YOU COULD REFRAIN FROM REMOVING POSTS THAT ARE COMPLETELY APPROPRIATE AND THAT THE POSTER OBVIOUSLY SPENT A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME COMPOSING WITH NOTHING IN MIND EXCEPT IMPROVING THIS COMMUNITY. I am really disgusted with the apparent indiscriminant post deleting.

You asked, you received. Now I hope you will pay attention.

I love the new changes as well

I do agree with night shade that you may too quick to delete a post that really should remain, we should be able to express our thoughts and opinions here, you cannot just keep the positive posts and delete the negative ones....

We all deserve to be heard, as long as no one is offended and hurt my them.

I agree! I just posted this morning about a spam I got from 1stemeds and it was deleted for no apparent reason since the whole thread is still there?

A post of mine to a person who was stating he already had a heart attack and was still drinking wanted to die young was also deleted. All I said was for him to please get help and not to give up on life. I really didn't understand why it was deleted. Maybe you could post in the space when you delete it why it was deleted?

The changes kind of confused me as to where to post certain things at, but in time I am sure it is a good thing. Although, I too have had post that I spent a considerable amount of time on that were not "wrong" in any way just disappear overnight!

ok.. I thought I was nuts and things were different.. However since I am super new I didn't want to say anything. Now I know what it going on. It does seem to be easier to navigate.

Maybe I am nuts after all!!!!

I do like most of the changes.

I do have to side with Night-shade and others about posts/threads being deleted. Maybe a quick note as to why it was deleted? If it is an individual post and not a whole thread maybe a pm explaining what was objectionable? If someones post is deleted without knowing why it may cause confusion or repeat behavior. It can also cause hurt feelings if one is deleted but one posted almost identical by someone who has been here longer is allowed to remain.

When DB deletes a post or a thread, I would like to see a short explanation of why. Like many others, I am confounded as to why some threads are deleted, and on the other hand there is at least one current thread running which boarders on recreational drug use, yet DB allows it to live on.

If you don't tell us why a thread was deleted, we won't know, and we will do it again. This makes more work for mods. If mods want less work, just let us know why something was deleted- it's not like people intentionally post something against rules; speaking of which, the rules are incredibly vague and inconclusive, there are so many other rules you just have to feel out after being here for some time.

But I'm wasting my breath, I've posted this countless times on the board (typically in a thread that gets deleted), and I've perseonally talked with mods about it. No change.

But getting back to the site changes...I like the new organization.

But what I would've liked a lot more is a cosmetic change, at the very least some more skins for us to play with.

Thank you for all the comments.

I just like to say that threads and posts are deleted because they break our posting rules :-)
Mostly because they are off topic or in the wrong forums.

Adjusting to the changes.
I was so comfortable with the old format, it is like entering a new house with a different floor plan.
It is good...that organization is better, you've cut down on duplicative threads.

I just need to adjust somemore.
