This may sound like a stupid question, but, besides the obvious and not having the money, is there other benefits/reasons people do COD's vs. Credit cards when buying from OP's? Just wondering?

I don't have a credit card, and cannot get one, that is a a major obsticle in using OP's - that's why I would prefer COD

Some people with credit cards might be concerned about their information being stolen, unauthorized charges etc. Actually it's generally safest to use a credit card, since there are protections against fraud. For people who have good credit, one idea is to have one credit card with a low limit and use it for online purchases of all types. One thing I would say NOT to do is to use a debit card that is hooked up to your checking account. Protections are less, and if there are problems, your money has already been taken. With a credit card, something was charged but not yet paid, so you're better off. Many online businesses will not ship COD, but some of the OP's do.

The main reason for using a CC (besides convienience) is that if you don't get what you pay for you can do a charge back.
A good compromise is to get a pay as you go CC available at stores like riteaid. You just load the card with as much as you need to charge, activate it and viola, you're good to go.

Yes, COD has one advantage. You don't have to pay unless you accept the package and UPS and FedEx will both allow you to open up a COD package to make sure it's right before you pay. If it's not right, they'll tape it up and send it back. Of course, i doubt many people want to count pills in front of the driver ...

I don't run into many who do COD, but if I do have that option, I use it. That takes away any worry of whatever you've ordered ultimately not showing up after payment. However, as someone stated above, I think it is also wise to keep one credit card only for OP use. I keep one of those "pre-loaded" ones for OPs - with enough in there to place an order but not enough for a double-charge. (There have been many, many cases of OPs double-charging). Sure, you can do a chargeback fairly easily on your regular cc, but why even put that possibility in the equation? We have enough stress as it is.
