I had a quick question Im hoping someone can answer for me. In my great state, we have a drug monitoring system where any scheduled drug is catalogued and anytime a new rx is filled, etc, they can catch you in a minute for double dipping, doctor shopping, etc. As of now, it seems the majority of the OPs have locations in FL in which Im assuming does not have such a database. As many have done in a crunch Im sure during holidays or such, have ordered from buymeds, tropical, etc. However, even though FL does not have such a database now, if they do decide to incorporate one in the future, will those folks that have double dipped in the past during a crunch be caught? Or would the database start fresh? I guess like many of you here that use OPs b/c their current physicians do not control their pain and/or anxiety needs, I worry and get so paranoid the MIBs will come knocking on my door. Would all these OPs have to start entering patient info say from 2 years ago, etc or would the database start fresh when its implemented? Does that make sense? Just wondering if anyone has thought about this or new the answer of how a database like this would start. Because Im so leery of the MIBs, I have never had to double dip and never order from an IOP for this simple reason, but with my tolerance building I am afraid I would in the future and worry. Just wanted some thoughts on this. Thanks.

Interesting question.
But who knows what a computer would spit out?
Considering that chain drugstores can have a computer printout of your meds in the last few years with a keystroke, once those computers are tied in to a database, who knows what the computer would spit out?

I do know many states have adopted Presciption Logging Systems. My state has just implemented it or are at least in the stages of implementing it from what I heard from a reliable source. I was also told they were to keep the whole thing under wraps as much as possible. Why the secret?? May states likely have it in place and we don't know about it. The intent here obviously being to catch or red flag those with suspcious filling habits likely w/o the patient knowing anything. Yes..uh.. Double dipping would be ref flagged. Now just how they intend to effectively enforce it is a whole other story. But I beleive a Florida Monitoring system, (which i thought was already in place) system could affect some of the OP's as a good number of them do operate out of Florida. All in all it seems too me just another way for 'Big Brother' to get into our privacy in every way possible. As far as entering all prior prescription history and applicable information into this system would be a daunting task to say the least! I certainly wouldn't look for that; but at the very least monitoring all new scripts you can bet on!
However, 'Double Dipping' as you so aptly called it is done everyday I would assume? Too combat that w/ OP's is a different story. This would require a nation-wide monitoring system that would practically need to be nationwide and literally cover EVERY scipt entered in the US and many of thse OP Pharmaholes operate in small towns all over this great land. Seems to me like quite a task to implement..undoubtedly in the works but I'd be surprised if such a system is currently in operation; but...who knows.
I knw I just HAD to doubledip myself yesterday, docs approved and its waiting to be shipped. Pharmacy located in Arizona, I would be surprised to see them somehow connected to some HUGE database showing my last script was too soon. (As these two PharmaHoles are located either side of the country) However I do recall hearing it happening once;...Order placed and approved from OP like normal, Pharmacy wouldnt fill it as it was too soon, so instead they held it until the waiting period was up then they released it. This is the only case I have heard and I don't have all the details.
We can only assume this double-dipping is happening all the time. I wouldn't worry to much bout the big boys if somehow they did magically get word. Don't they have bigger and better things to worry about, than someone who placed a small personal order (approved by a DR, I might add) for some additional Lortabs cause they run out a few days early..Big Deal!
Of course as we speak my order is still sitting in the que waiting to be filled. Maybe they do know its a bit too soon. It's my own fault I got 60 Lortabs 7.5, thats only 2 a day; anybody with any kind of pain will know that sometimes that won't cut it. Should have gone or 90 count, I would'nt be sitting in this mess. I ordered from unityRX.com; after speaking with thier courteuous Dr. she explained how thier service worked, which was good as the website doesnt adequately explain what she told me in person. Sounds pretty awesome to me....if I can just get them to ship my meds, gosh i hope they aren't being held! . Anybody that would like any more information either on the service they offer or the discussion please PM me.
Thanks All!
