Fiachat, it's flysw. I NEVER said I don't have a Dr. to treat me! I have insurance & $$$ problems due to crash. I'm not getting into that. They never admitted me to the hospital, just for pain. Aloha, Susie

I want to thank everyone who responded to my desperate cry for help! I'd like to diffuse this flame & hope all will respect each others opinions, & get on with things. I am still toughing it out. I merely asked about oxycodone, but will probably try to get lortab. I want to set the record straight: I am still in acute & very intense pain. There is NOTHING else wrong with me. In my own words, I cannot go to the hospital every time I have flares in pain; it's frowned upon! I cannot change Dr's. as I'm in litigation with the airline. I have to use this Dr. who undermedicates, till case settles, which will be approximately 9/06. I don't expect anyone to understand my level of pain ... but, if the DC-10 Jumbo-jet was totalled, what do you think it dous to bones & soft tissue???????? I intend to talk to all of you when this flare passes. It started last Saturday (on a week-end). I so appreciate the support & no, I was NOT looking for sympathy; they are 2 different things! I hold no bad feelings, & wish I knew how to take the thread & delete the caps! Aloha,Susie

If it's any comfort, I didn't doubt you. I know we can all have some pretty extenuating circumstances for our needs. I think the flame will pass. Always does. It just ticked me off that someone was passing judgement and not trying to be helpful. That's what we're all here for. Good luck in getting your meds. I hope all goes well with your case. I'll be praying for you and I hope you'll report your progress as time permits.

I'm so sorry about your pain and also sorry that you got snapped at when you posted.
Maybe the chiropractor is hurting you. They scare me.

Flysw, I hope that you will somehow find some relief this weekend, and yes being in pain certainly affects your ability to get your thoughts together, we've all been there and are here for you to vent. But I do think Lacy has been slammed pretty hard, I went back and read some of her posts (certainly not all!) and aside from the one on this thread, I did not see any "obnoxious" posts. What did I miss? Lacy I don't want you to hit the bricks.

Well I'm glad to see having read to the end of this thread that everybody ended up being compassionate and understanding. I can vouch for this poor girl - she was in a horrific plane crash at DFW. I've seen the pictures and it's amazing she lived through it. I can only imagine the pain she has endured for over 10 years now. We all know from chronic pain how it can effect your mind and your thoughts, and how desperate you can get when the pain gets so bad. She has been abandoned by her employer and we all know how *doctors* are to deal with.
Anyway - you received the best info regarding OP's in a post above with links to the best around and unfortunately, hydrocodone is the strongest med you can get from any OP. Dr. Watson would be a good alternative. I'll shoot you a PM with a few more ideas and I sure hope your flare up ends soon and you get some relief.
Most of the people on this board are very compassionate so hang around!

It always strikes me as fishy when someone posts that they have severe medical problems and no doc to help them
What??!!! Isn't this the whole reason why we are ALL here? Why are we all using OP's if the doc's are SO helpful??? I can't even believe I read this on this board!!!
Oops...messed up my quote...you get my point tho!

I am relatively new to this forum. I sat back and read for the first several months. I have added some writings in the past year, starting right after my daughter passed away at the age of 19 from Osteosarcoma. As I was reading this thread I was shocked by the judgement flowing toward this person seeking help. The one thing that really appealed to me in this forum is the compassion and respect. It really was like a lighted tower on a dark night. My own family is in so much grief I found comfort with those here who understand pain and loss. It is so hard in this life when you are thrown bad situations, and it certainly helps to have people who understand and can lend an ear and a shoulder to cry on. The advice aspect is also extremely important. I know the majority of people in this forum are those who have had horrific circumstances of health issues, and I am truly amazed that one in the mix could react in such a judgemental way. Any of us who have gone through medical problems for any great length of time know how insurance and doctors can really make it difficult to find relief. Insurance most of all. I applaud those of you who jumped in to defend. I think it important to remember we don't know unless we walk a day in those shoes. I for one hope you find relief. You should know by now there are many who can relate to your story and are behind you.

Flysw,
I am so sorry you were 'welcomed' *insert sarcasm here* to the board by one poster in such a judgemental way. If Sky can vouch for you, then I believe everything you have said 100%! I'm also one of those types that generally tend to trust and believe everyone and although I've been stung many times for doing it, I will never stop. It's called belief in your fellow man.
I found this board because of constant pain, the quality of my life was going so downhill I was ready to just give up. But as luck will have it, on that same day that I felt there was just no hope anymore, I found DB! Since then, because of OPs I can live a reasonably almost pain free life and have made one of the best friends I've ever had to boot.
So, what I'm trying to get across to you is: (in my usual rambling, babbling way) stay with us and ignore the doubting Thomas's and the so called self appointed board police. You and only you know the pain you are in and I for one, hope and pray that you find the relief you need soon.

Flysw, did you get anything figured out yesterday as far as getting a consult? I just wanted to check & see how your doing?
We are all here suffering like you in pain & would like to help as many as we can be pain free. If the lortab will work for you for right now there were some good links posted on P.1 of your post, plus look under the US OP board.
Please update let us know how your doing & if you figured something out. Its hard to know someone is in pain suffering when there is help for us all here.
Hoping your having a better day today?
Tammy

Bravo to Lemongrass. First post here. I have been in the same position due to misdiagnosis and then several back surgeries which disabled me. Once the doc realized he screwed up he dropped me like a dirty sock and in so much unbelievable pain. I went to other ortho docs who would not even touch me due to the controversy over the proceedures done to me. Its been a nightmare. Even thought of ending it all at one point. Finally I found a pain doc who normally would not, but after telling him my story took me on without a referral. Very very unheard of, I know. I brought what records I had on my first visit which was scheduled within a few days. He saved my life. I have told him this many times. If anyone needs to know the name of a very compassionate doctor who is in the southeast, please email me at I will give you his web address which is how I found him and I contacted him thru the site with my story. I hope no one has to live in the horrendous pain that we go thru. But I have to keep believing that the good Lord wouldent put us thru anything we couldent handle. God Bless.
