DIDREX " Where is it"
      #137951 - 02/16/04 01:17 PM

Hey everyone, I have been searching for a reliable source for Didrex. I have looked at a few sources but the ones I have checked say it is not available any longer.

Would anyone who knows of a reliable source that doesnt charge an arm and a leg let me know. Preferably a source in the states but the the regular OP that we all use for our pain meds.

Please, if any of you have some info for me, please share it with me.

Many thanks,

MB

Malibu,
Didrex is becoming increasingly more difficult to find. While not being able to say with certainty, the reason may be that the med has been abused. It is known as the anorectic's med of choice.

http://www.medsnationwide.com
50 mg. #30 for $100 + $105 consult
50 mg. #60 for $145 + $105 consult
50 mg. #90 for $190 + $105 consult

http://www.valueprescribe.com
50 mg. #30 for $95.77 (includes shipping)
50 mg. #90 for $195.77 " "

http://www.sisterspharmacy.com
50 mg. #30 for $84 (all listed as sale prices)
50 mg #60 for $124
50 mg. #90 for $169

http://www.refillrequest.com
50 mg. #30 for $79.49
50 mg. #60 for $119.99
50 mg. #90 for $159.99

The above all list Didrex in stock. Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Thank you so very much for the info. I guess it is being abused like alot of the other meds out there. By the way what is a anorectic?
Also is it considered Double Dipping if one uses one of the sources you suggested to get Didrex. After all it is not a Narcotic so I really think it would be ok.
thanks again for the info,

MB

Double dipping is double dipping. It really doesn't make much difference which OP you use, or what med it is. Keep in mind that diet drugs like this are far more dangerous than most pain meds, and double dipping on these is actually far more risky to your health and life.

Malibu,
It appears that some of the diet meds, such as Didrex and Phentermine are going to be off-the-market until FDA does some further investigation into side effects. That's why it's so hard to obtain right now as OPs and IOPs are not getting new shipments in. The primary problems are around glucose metabolism, the fact that they have "amphetamine-like" properties and, as with ephedra, can adversely affect thyroid functioning.
One of the solutions is to find a pure appetite suppressant such as Meridia (see thread in Media Forum on antipsychotics and weight gain for more on this). At least you have time to plan for future ways of taking off/maintaining weight.
BTW: an anorectic (one who has anorexia nervosa) is extremely underweight, has a distorted body image in thinking she's fat at 80 lbs., and is obsessed with diet and exercise to maintain this condition which can be life threatening. When Didrex first came out, anorectics found that it gave them energy to function without eating. The result was that it intensified the malnutrition and negative medical and mental health problems.

I have checked some of the sites below, and I think one of them is a possibility. The only problem is I need a source that will ship C.O.D.

The main reason I want C.O.D. is because I hopefully wont get ripped off that way. When the meds come, I pay for them. So anyone else that has suggestions, has a location where he or she has ordered Didrex from in the past and have been successful PLEASE let me know.

thanks,

MB

Hello Malibu, Your going too have a hard time finding a SOURCE FOR DIDREX THAT SHIPS COD. I would stick with a source that takes CREDIT CARDS ,And if you do not get your DIDREX. EMAIL THEM AND TELL THEM , YOUR REVERSING THE CHARGES (Do the same if the meds. are fake!) GOOD LUCK, CHEESE (REMEMBER 30 DAYS IS THE LIMIT ON MOST CREDIT CARDS TO REVERSE CHARGES.)

Besides possibly referring to a patient with such diagnosis, and before such psych terms came along, anorectic refers to a drug that makes your body NOT WANT
to eat; appetite supressant, amphetamines are the most potent prescription ones. Didrex , since it is short acting, causes more problems than its worth. That ia what I think the officials think. Though in fact they mean ''let's avoid people getting a buzz from meds.''
So a related med, Phentermine, and other similar anorexic
(sp?) meds that are long acting probably are just as bad depending on use patterns and your own physiology, especially with such factors as diet and exercise , etc in mind. I found Anna's info confusing. One thing is true there: if your use of these meds chronically you will become ipso facto anorectic (as a clinical problem); but there are factors endogenous to various people that make them anorectic (would need to consult lit to get this word/term usage correct) despite anything having to do with medicine whatsover. Hope this perspective is beneficial to some one.
Thanks, Best Wishes ALL
