This is why anyone who is new should read this board. You can always be scammed, but its true the chance of seizure is small. If you do business with IOPs who have a proven record of being reliable, you will not have to worry about being ripped off. All the info anyone needs to find these IOPs is on this board.

Got to wonder - ordered 4 X 48 NUROFEN + (192 pills)
from "down under" - had the first problems I've ever had with customs - no delivery.

Do you think a smaller shipment (say) 2 X 48 pack (98 pills) has a better chance of getting through to the USA - I did just order 2 X 48 - hope it makes it

Let me know your experiences with quantity

Regards,

Jake

Hi Jake while I do notknow the actual size of the meds you are talking about I do know you are ALWAYS better off keeping your shpments as small as possible.About 6 years ago after getting NUMEROUS seizure notices,I learned you are better off paying more in shipping and have your deliverys divided into more pkgs.I only currently order zanax from IOPs and they are so small it makes for a safer delivery. After getting flagged by customs though it didn't matter what I ordered, all my pkgs. were intercepted. It was only after moving to another state could I order from any IOP again....just keep it as small as possible and you should be ok! Take Care, Wren'

I dont think you will have much luck with 24 or 48 or 96 nuro+ getting to the US. Customs has taken a stand against those awful powerful codiene products. From what Ive been hearing and reading Aussie and New Zealand parcels are being checked closer for codiene. I know how much those darn nuros make noise, and I dont know of any IOP that trys to make the shipment silent, and its not hard to do with N+. If you are in need of low dose codiene try Mastersmarketing, they are more expensive than most Aussie or New Zealand IOPs, but you might find a few other things to throw in the order.

From what I am given to understand, ALL orders for anything at all from Australia and New Zealand, is being stopped by Customs and checked for those wicked low dose Codiene products. To date, after many more e-mails to the company, and nary a reply to date.....The charge back is going through. If it was seized by Customs (and I've not received a love letter from them), then some alternative arrangement should be made. Seeing I can't get them to reply to even a simple e-mail, I feel forced to go through with the charge back. I don't like doing it, and would rather they communicated with me about what has happened. However, lacking any response from this company, the only way I have of expressing my complete displeasure with their 'service' is to do the charge back. If they won't talk to me, then I will hit them in the back pocket. Maybe then they will improve their CS and actually reply to someone who sends them a post.

So far, I've sent over 20 posts and received not a single reply. I've not gotten any kind of a love letter from Customs...so the only way I know they removed of my order is from the tiny note they put into the package. I realize it sounds like I am trying to get something for nothing....But seeing nothing was received, then I am within my rights to request a charge back. I did talk to the bank about it for some time before authorizing the charge back and they are in agreement with me. Nothing was received, even though I had paid for something. The paperwork was sent to me early last week, and was returned within 24 hours of my getting it. That is where things stand at the moment. The bank put a provisional credit into my account within a few days of my phone call. A credit that can be removed again if the bank feels it is warrented.

In the mean time, I'm dealing with US based OPs only for some of the 'lesser' meds I need. I am with a good OP for my pain meds so that is covered. I am aware that it may appear that I am taking extreme measures with this, but I honestly feel I have no other option considering the IOP in question refuses to answer ANY of my posts. I've been polite, not the least bit snarky, and simply requested that the matter be looked in to. With no replies, a charge back really is my only option.

I looked up your other posts to see if "down under" referred to a company I'm familiar with. Well, seems that in December, I placed the same order you did 11 days after you did. It arrived complete, but it had been opened and resealed with "examined by US customs" tape. I'd placed 2 orders with them previously in 2003, and they both arrived a-ok. But, especially after hearing about their problems with both customs and customer service, I won't be using them again.

Good luck with your order! Let us know if your smaller order gets through. Of course smaller orders are always preferable. But, customs can confiscate it whether the quantity is small or large. I don't know why they sent mine on, but other people have reported that too. I'm sure they are most concerned with finding things that are more dangerous than a packet of headache tablets. But, I would guess that if they inspected a box and found it contained 100 packets of headache tablets, it would be more likely to be confiscated than a box of 4 (but hopefully for you, 2 is even more likely than 4 to be allowed through.)

As to smaller size making a package less likely be inspected in the first place, I'm not sure if that makes a great difference in actuality. (One of the most newsworthy "dangerous mail" items of late simply came in an envelope.) Relative to the large variation in size of all the packages that go through the mail, a 4-pack-sized box won't be significantly larger than a 2-pack sized box. And this particular company sent me the same-sized order in three different sizes/styles of package (one was double-boxed and the interior box had a label from another product, so they were obviously "recycling" boxes - so you might not even get a smaller box, they might just grab whatever they have on hand and fill with shredded paper.)

I'd guess the main things that make a difference in whether a package is more likely to get checked by customs are the origin (the country, and perhaps, certain return addresses), and the package's appearance. (The three shipments from "down under" all came in different box styles, and funnily, the only one that got examined was the least shabby-looking of the three!)
