I use Tramadol for T.R Major depression, mild pain
      #140074 - 02/20/04 10:21 PM

My use for tramadol duel..for my hip, leg, and knee pain i get when i walk or am on my feet a lot, but the main use is for my major depression and anxiety.. i dont respond to conventional antidepressants and i know of about 5 or 6 studies that have positive results with tramadol for treatment resistive major depression. My doctor (psychiatrist) gives me tramadol after i asked him to and didnt respond to almost 20 medications for anxiety and major depression. i also order extra Tramadol from OP because he only gives me 30 pills per month.

although my use of tramadol is off lable, scinetific studies support it, plus my doctor approves (for one pill a day so far at least) i can tell you all that the mental pain of major depression is very tough and destroys fuctioning too. many major depressives do not respond to standard SSRI medications because serotonin is not the only endogenous chemical that can be in dysfuction. i hope that in the future mental pain in the form of major endogenous depression is treated better and better drugs are devoloped for those who have reward deficency syndrome/dopamine/endogenous endorphin dysfuction rather than just serotonin dysfuction.

Have any links showing those studies that tramadol helps with depression and anxiety?

Also, how many does it take to work?

Hello tone, welcome to the board. I just wanted to point out to you that as you use tramadol for major depression because you don't respond to conventional antidepressants, this make you unique. As you pointed out in the thread about" I know which kind of hydrocodone....", that hydrocodone is hydrocodone, the members who take various types and have different reactions are like you "unique". Although we are all basically made from the same "stuff", genetically (unless some of us are related) we are different. Different hair color, eye color, some have allergies, etc. I believe what the posters were trying to say is that, as you point out, although hydrocodone is hydrocodone the fillers that are used in completing the product may differ. Thus, there may be some fillers that people may have a problem with, hense it makes them feel ever so differently when they take the medication. Thats all. You appear to be a very energetic and knowledgeable person. Its great to have your energy and knowledge on the board. turcica
