I was wondering if anyone had any experience with NewHorizonRx.com? I read somewhere that they will rx more than the standard #90, and will also give upt to 3 refills.
I haven't heard much feedback on them. I was also concerned about the statement on the site that says that the will verify your records. Does this mean they have to call your doctor?

Hello-
New Horizon is run by one of the employees at Woody's pharmacy. Although I have not used them, I would say that it is a safe bet as Woody's is a very reputable pharmacy with many satisfied customers. If records are needed, it is only for their use and I have never heard of an OP calling anyone's Dr. I would try them- call them if you have questions re: contacting your Dr. Good Luck!

Weird, they can't service Cali. It's in their FAQ section. But darn-near every other OP can send meds to Cali. Hmm...

Mjboron,
What kind of meds did you get? How many did the Dr Rx you, and how many refills did he give?
Do you know if they "verified your records"? Does that mean that they call your Dr?

I looked at their site and this is the first I have seen that does not service California. This seems a bit strange and the reasons are unclear to me.

I have seen both New Jersey and California start to pop up on more and more of the OP's 'do not ship to' lists.... I don't have ANY idea why, just thought I would mention. Infact I saw an OP lately that COULD ship to so FEW states, that they listed the ones they *could* ship to, rather than the ones they COULDn'T That's kind of frightening.
It was like 15 states they were able to ship to. Alot of this has to do with who is licensed where, etc. etc..... Different docs are licensed in many states, etc...... So who knows. I doubt the state has banned all shipments of OP orders, because that would also keep people in California into using the chain/mainstream OP's like Eckerds Online, Walgreens Online, etc - to fill their prescriptions.
I don't think these are state regulations, I think it is whether the doc and pharmacy are 'set up' with everything in place and legal to ship to that particular state. This is not for SURE. But it is what I am assuming from all the posts I have read on this matter. So don't get too worried if your state shows up on an OP's 'don't ship to list' - Chances are the majority of OP's, still DO ship there.

Although I will say, I have seen some of the Southern states (Missouri Alabama, etc) show up on almost ALL the 'don't ship to' lists....... That's crazy. I think Louisiana is one of these too? Maybe I dreamed it. So maybe it is at the state level, I dunno really....

THE REASON THEY CAN'T SERVE CALI IS DUE TO STATE LAWS IN CALI.

They were the first I ever used and was pleased with everything. After faxing records and filling form, received consult and had meds the next day. They were great. True that they use Woody's, but with Woody's on the "down and out" I would maybe call to make sure they can still deliver or who might their pharmacy be now.
THEY DID NOT CALL LOCAL DOCTOR!

they dont call your doctor they simpy verify you reocords so they know htt you are legit and what your medical conidtions are...it is that simply! the docs are real and they rx what you need. PM me if you wnat he lastest, bnut bottom line is alll is well, wiht th nhrx. While woodys is dowm, you are offered a refill tranfer to united, TDI or BiWise. It is the best CS uders the circmustances I have ever seen!

Has anyone had a new consult with them since the problems with Woody's started? If so, did it go smoothly?
I emailed them about a week and a half ago, and they said that they were using United unitl Woody's gets their stiuation straightened out. Are they giving customers a choice of pharmacies among United, TDI and Bi-Wise on the new consults?
One advantage that they seem to have over the competition is that they offer #120 and also give 3 refills. Also, they only charge either $89 or $99 for their consults. This seems to be a good offer, but how good is their cust. service and which Dr. do they use? Does he seem to be a friendly and compassionate doc?

Someone posted above that this OP is "owned by an employee at Woody's"... Why would anyone want to risk using an OP that is owned by a pharmacy that was down for a month for regulatory investigation, up for a 4 day window now, and then back into regulatory purgatory?
I'd run to another OP and wouldn't risk my refills if they get shut down for good or have problems transferring more than 1 controlled substance refill, leaving you out in the cold in 1-2 months...It's not worth saving a few bucks on a $99 special consult - or whatever they offer - in my opinion....
I'd even choose YOD over these guys (and this is me posting - who wrote a book in another post about how I'd never use YOD again after they screwed up managing the recent customer problems at Woody's), since NH seems to be very closely intertwined with Woody's and their uncertain future and more likely to go down if Woody's does.

Actually, the two are only related if NewHorizonRx's ability to provide customers with prescriptions is through Woody's. Otherwise, if they have agreements with other pharmacies, there should be no reason why they could not fulfill prescriptions like any other OP.
Clearly, given the current regulatory climate, OP telemedicine providers who put all of their eggs in a single pharmacy basket are doing so at their own risk, and at the risk of their patients' continuity of care. Multiple fulfillment sources are likely to become a defining characteristic of reliable telemedicine providers in the future.

I think New Horizens used to fill through Woody's, and were only temporarily using United or TDI while Woody's is down for transfers and new consults. This is just like YOD, except NHRX is more closely related to Woody's from what I read (owned by a Woody's employee), which led me to be very fearful of doing business with them, given Woody's uncertain future at this time.
