Thanks, Lovely! I, too, am a devout dog lover. A great book that I read recently about how much dogs add to our lives as companion animals is: "Dogs Never Lie About Love" by Jeffrey Masson. It is a must read for all dog lovers. If you haven't already read it, consider it my valentine to all you dog lovers out there. Another good one about loving dogs is "Pack of Two" but I can't remember the author. It is about the love of a woman for her dog. Enjoy! Happy Valentine's Day to all, even if you don't have the offical date with the expensive dozen roses, etc,

Ok, I want to hear some good romantic stories of what you or your sweetheart did for each other today. Anyone out there got any good stories to share??? Not me, got a dozen roses, a card, and we are sitting home with our 6 month old baby girl and 2 boys. Oh, how I need a sitter for a quiet romantic dinner!!!!

I don't have a romantic story - sorry KC, in the same in the same boat as you basically but you know that. Why is it that guys want us to stay thin and come home with these huge boxes of choclate?

My fiance and I went to Ikea today, and even though that doesn't sound romantic, it was very very sweet. He drove me an hour and half there and we went there to buy a few things and looked at all the neat things we're going to put into our house one day. It was really nice because we were planning our future together. And it's also nice that he got me a beautiful necklace and earring set to match my engagement ring. Later tonight we're going to light a few candles and give each other massages. Last valentine's we took a couple's massage class, so we're going to freshen up our skills. I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's day. It's just a great feeling to be loved, whether it's by your significant other, friends, family, or pets. I've looked at this day of sharing your love, romantic or otherwise. Yesterday, both my fiance and I got to visit with our best friends who live out of town, and we saw my parents. It was just so nice getting together with those that mean the most to you.

Let's have a contest...
I spent last night in a hotel suite, with my husband, my 7yo and my MOTHER IN LAW. Uh-huh...
Gifts, flowers, cards, NOPE... it was all we could do to get a last minute card and throw 20 bucks in it for the kid. My husband and I completely ignored the whole day. This is definitely not the norm, but we had a very difficult week negotiating with some CHEAP to buy a new house, so we already felt

Im really big into quotes so I just wanted to share this with everyone.
I meant to post yesterday but was rushed because we were going to mall of america. I had a great time my pain levels were down some but oh my feet hurt from all the walking...ok here it is...

Zoe, I remember many holidays like those when we were saving to buy our house & once we got it were to broke to still buy each other gifts, we made sure our daughter always had stuff but when it came to us, well you know how that goes not enough $$.
But spending it with your inlaws YIKES, i would drop dead if i had to spend the day with mine lol!! Maybe you have nicer inlaws than I do though?

Winter,
It wasn't the money, it was sheer exhaustion, and pre occupation. The people we're buying from just wouldn't give an inch. I told my agent that I will NOT behave like that when it comes to the people buying our house. When we bought out current house everyone was pleasant and accomodating, so this transaction has been very disheartening. I'm planning my revenge at the inspection, when WE will contol things.
