I had an overnight package that was supposed to be here today and when I checked the tracking this morning, it said rescheduled for Monday delivery. Well, I called the 800 # a couple of times and they told me 2 different things: 1. It will be delivered monday and there is nothing they can do 2.It might show up today, it is just running late. Now I've had this happen before, but it showed up before 10am EST on the tracking page. I am just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them after 10am EST on an overnight package. Also, I believe it was an overnight saver, so technically they have until the end of the day to deliver it, correct?
Don't let the CR's at the 1-800 # scare you. They simply don't know the situation half the time. If a package is traveling through states and lands in one of changeovers, say in Minnesota, but doesn't take off until 12:01am, the computer automatically reschedules the delivery. The tracking information will typically be corrected as soon as it reaches your area. The state and times are only examples, but I hope you get the general idea. It is a computuer driven change that is meaningless. To be on the safe side, be sure to follow it to your local hub, and if they don't change it upon arrival, call and give the scoop about Overnight fees and all. It will deliver to you today.
Very weird, because I had a UPS package rescheduled today as well. And an overnight Fedex package (non-meds) from West Virginia that should be here today, but it hasn't even made the hub yet. They usually make the hub by 6:00 am. HHHHHHMMMMMMMMMM????????
Found out the problem for you and me both Dansani. Most of the state of florida was IFR flying conditions and the airport at West Palm Beach had such a thick fog that the UPS plane conuldn't land. I assume it was the same for FedEx with their hub in Orlando. Just to let you know, I just picked up my package at 3:45pm EST. At least it got here. Oh, the term IFR means that the weather condtions require instrument flight for a plane to leave the ground and even in these conditions, there has to some visibility over the runway or noboday can land.
