Expediameds
      #133462 - 02/02/04 11:32 AM

Hello Everyone:

Does anyone have any feedback on Expediameds? The prices are pretty high, but the process looks easy.

If anyone has any experiences with them they'd be willing to share (via posts or PM's) I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks everyone!

I see. First I'm schilling for Expediameds, now I'm trying to get people's posts removed.

Get over yourself. I looked at the "Feedback based on personal experience (USA)" and found no threads about Expediameds, so I posted my question. Since I have a life and I'm not signed into this board all day, that's about all the research I thought I needed before asking an innocent question.

As for this 'attack' business, fine, it wasn't an attack. It was one of the friendliest and most helpful responses I've received on this board. That must be why I'm receiving all these PM's from fellow users with their opinions about Expediameds (and you). They must be inspired by your friendly example.

Thanks again for your help.

N.S.

I'll add that your original post was very accurate in describing this OP. I guess they inspire strong feelings in people because there is a predatory quality to their pricing on some meds. Actually, some are also almost reasonable. If you find a product at a price point you can deal with, this appears to be a legit operation with delivery in a 3-5 day timeframe. Good luck.

These threads contain all the feedback you could ask for. I'm sure you'll find most of them eventually touch on discontent with regard to ExpediaMed's price and/or service. I stopped using them when they began to charge $350 for hydrocodone (includes consult). Beginning with 2004, they no longer ship to many states.

These threads are devoted exclusively to ExpediaMeds (now known as ExpMeds)...

"expediameds.com"

"expediameds.com"
"ExpediaMeds Refills..."
"ExpediaMeds price jacking..."
"Is expedia gone too?"
"Expidameds.com/Expmeds Refund Problem"

And here are some other threads were ExpediaMeds is also mentioned...

"Buymeds still alive?!?!?"
"Buymeds"
"buymeds quest"
"Are there any free consultation site out there now"
"List Of Possible Hydro OPS"
"Universal--Pharmacy--Solutions----Help"
"HugeRX Back Online And Similar Hydro Site"

"Woody's no longer shipping meds out of state?"

I'm having a *very* hard time with expmeds.com right now. ordered the 2mg #90 xanax on 1/23, paid for overnight, and it arrived on time. looked like any other 2mg xanax i've received from my local pharmacy (scored bar), but it did nothing. i have next to no tolerance for benzos - i took half, and 30 minutes later no relief. took a whole one, same thing. so, i tried 50 some times to get a person to answer their '9-6 EST' customer service line, and when i finally did, they said to send it back to the pharmacy for replacement, and follow it up with them. i ups 2-day'd it back to them. tried calling the pharmacy while the package was enroute, but their answering machine clearly states that they do not return phone calls. called expmeds another 50ish times, no answer for either 'help' or 'billing issues' extensions, so i left the 'billing' voicemail box a rather clear statement of the problem and that i was prepared to go to db's mediation (i'm a VIP member) and charge-back if it wasn't resolved. got a call the next morning from a pleasant woman saying they'd take care of it and i would hear back from someone within a few hours. after another day of nothing, i make another series of redials until the man who answers the 'help' (option 2) extension answered, explained again the problem, and gave him the tracking number of the package. he said he couldn't do anything himself, but the office manager 'always takes care of these things quickly'. later that night, i reply to the email i originally received from them saying my order was received, and again stated my situation. friday morning, 2/6, i get an email from a 'melissa' in their CS department (but obviously from her home email account) saying she understood i had issues with the meds i received, and asked for the tracking number of the package so she could confirm the pharm received it, and she would order the replacement. gave her the tracking number, and told her that i had already given it to the man who answered the 'help' extension, etc. heard nothing back. called the CS line again this morning (2/9), got the same guy, and the same 'the office manager will definitely take care of it' line of BS. emailed melissa again, being quite a bit more forward about my intentions if i didn't have a tracking number for the replacement or a refund by the end of the day. well, that day is now over. if i don't have my meds, or my money back, and/or some kind of REAL acknowledgement and explanation tomorrow when the fedex man swings by with some ebay stuff, i'm going to point my fan towards florida and drop my pants.

i will never order from them again, and will count myself lucky to receive either replacement meds or a refund.

Just wanted to add that my order arrived, #90 count, in a FedEx ENVELOPE (not the padded shipping envelope) and the count was correct. The only problem was they were Mallies (M367), 10/325 instead of Watties as the label on the pill bottle said.

Can't have everything.

For that price they should be made of gold. I am sorry but companies that price gouge to this level. Should not get any business... WCS....

Let's not forget the $49.95 consult, so the total is $369.85 for 90 generic Mallinckrodt pain pills at $4.11 each, worth approximately $45.00 at drugstore.com at about .50 each - a 722% markup.

However, FedEx did ship it to you. Hurrah for the FedEx.

Edited: Generic Norco is currently $45 per 90 (.50 each) at drugstore.com rather than $30 (.33 each) as I originally posted.

I've given the total price and some links before - that's about it. He didn't mention the consult price, so I added that, as well as the relative markup. I believe it's ok to mention these extra details, and as such, I'll do so without apology. Please discontinue the flames (i.e. "you just like the sound of your own voice", etc.)

But don't you use Buymeds, which is still nearly $3 a pill?

According to the numbers in your post, that is about a 900% markup. (really not all that different in theory from expmeds is it?)

You should really get them at drugs.com for only .33 each. That's the better deal.

No doubt ExpMeds and BuyMeds both overcharge to an obscene degree. That's a given.

ExpMeds: $4.11 a tab = 722% approx. markup (over .50)
BuyMeds: $2.82 a tab = 464% approx. markup (over .50)

A difference of $1.29 per tab between the two.

Yes, both are theoretically large markups, one 258% larger than the other. However, this is not about theory, but about price. In theory, drugstore.com has every single American OP on this entire forum beat solid. As such, their price serves as a real world minimum reference. Of course, if we could pay that little, we would. The fact that we cannot doesn't justify equating the most expensive OP around with the average OP experience, or allowing unmentioned extra charges to remain hidden from prospective buyers. Thus the markup & the consultation charge were mentioned. No "redundancy", just factual figures.

Thanks....

Drugstore.com says you need a prescription? If I had a prescription, I would go to my neighborhood CVS and fill it!
That's defeating the purpose!

Mariav ... could that statement also infer that you need a prescription and they have the docs there for the consult? In most cases this is the truth and another money making avenue for the OP.

I think you may have missed the point of the post.

That was my somewhat sarcastic response to a prior reference another member made about the extreme markups on prescriptions from some OPs, and they simply used Drugstore.com as a reference of "standard" drug prices.

My point was that if anybody here could actually get them from an OP at those prices, they would. YOU CANNOT!

Drugstore.com is NOT an OP, just a regular online drugstore. It's just a point of reference for retail pricing. (unless you actually have a paper prescription from your doc)

Please let it go.
