Hi Chris,
Yep, looks like I was being a little too anxious. They took care of me, very professional.
One question, I had asked for #120 and was told that since this was first consult, that was not an option?!? So basically, I ca only order 120 my next consult? Is that the case?
Thanks,
-VOR

I just wanted to ask as I am also due for a new consult and am thinking of changing ops; how long do you have to wait after you get your last refill to go to another op? Is there a time limit?

Hi-
If I were you, I would wait till the 25th day of my last refill. On the 25th day order your NWW consult and you'll have your meds in hand the next day.
Hope this helps-

Chris. It's great you run an honest busines.
I have question. I wonder if you can PM or Post the answer:
Is Vicoprofen available? (the 7.5/325)? in either
Brand (Abbot I believe) or Generic (Teva, for one, makes it, and considerably cheaper than the Brand).
However I would like to know if the Brand name is available, and, what is the price? It would be great to know that Brand name Vicoprofen is an option at #120.
Thanks in advance.

Chris, is it true that you cannot get the #120 on your first consult? I was planning on using you soon...

Please note, Vicoprofen comes in a strength of 7.5/200, not 7.5/325.

Re: The Vicoprofen posts. The 200 mg is Ibuprofen, the 325 in Norco is acetominophen(sp). I like vicoprofen very much and it works well if you take some extra Advil with it (up to 3, 200 mg) if your stomach can take it. But Vicoprofen is so darn expensive.

Hi Bonkers,
I think we're on the same page, but wanted to make sure you didn't misunderstand my post that you replied to.
I was replying to Chris at NWW (and the person who asked about vicoprofen) who had mistakenly said NWW had generic Vicoprofen "7.5/325" in stock. My purpose was to correct their posts regarding strength by stating that it comes in 7.5/200 tablets, not 7.5/325. (I assumed people knew the 200 was ibuprofen and 7.5 was hydro.)
In addition, I believe the maximum recommended daily ibuprofen dose is 1.6 grams, or 8 tablets of Vicoprofen 7.5/200.

Thanks BlackCat; I am advised,
Today we closed on the pharmacy. I have been assured: assured, we have it! And, you can specify, which gen you prefer, per patient. There will be no more shortages.
I apologize if I am not aquainted with the specifics of the numbering.
-Chris
I hope this news is satisfactory, Cat. I thank you, for your insightful, and informative posts. -C

Chris,
So when do you expect new consults to be able to send scripts to the new pharmacy? By the start of March maybe? Or shorter/longer?

Great news on the new pharmacy deal Chris - congrats! Could you please answer a few questions that I'm sure others also have regarding the new pharmacy?
1. What is the name of the new pharmacy and where are they located?
2. If we have refills remaining from NWW at St. Pete's, I assume we cannot transfer them to your new pharmacy, and will have to continue to fill them at St. Pete's, correct?
3. Starting on Monday (as you told Yawkaw3), for new / repeat consults, will patients have to select which pharmacy to use, or are you going to DROP St. Pete's and SEND ALL scripts to the new pharmacy?
4. WHEN will you have PRICING information available for the new pharmacy?
4.a. Meds is my biggest concern, since I hope the new pharmacy will be cheaper than St. Pete's, which I found a bit pricey compared to others for norco. WHEN do you expect to update your web site with med prices from the new pharmacy? (Listing either one or two sets of prices, depending upon whether you stop using St. Pete's or keep both pharmacies as options for customers)
4.b. Shipping costs is my secondary concern. I know you have been working on better pricing in parallel with the new pharmacy. Could you post shipping costs for different options (overnight PM, 2 day, etc.) in the pricing section of your web site when you update it with new med prices?
Thank you in advance for answers to these questions Chris.

Hello Black, it is always good to hear from you;
I have some answers,
Universal Pharmacy in Tampa FL. They are only serving NWW customers
I am starting with a small amount on Monday; by end of week, they will be at full swing. I will be transferring, those with refills, can send me PMs, call, send a smoke signal; I will find you, and get your RX to the new place. I have 2 new F/T customer support staff, helping me with work from the board. Yes to transfers.
You may choose to stay at St. Pete's, if this is your desire, you should call the office, or if consulting, tell the practitioner, which you prefer.
Pricing will be done by this FRI 02.10.04 I have another pressing issue today/tomorrow I must attend to. Price list will be up and live on site as well.
I am hoping that the prices will be better than ever; i just have to deal with other concerns today, so will crunch numbers tomorrow night.
I have my own fedex account, the pricing will definately be better. I am also going to do shipping specials.
We are looking at compounding/wafers/and all things very progressive. I am very excited to work with these people.
This is all I can think of to report at present.
I hope this helps answer a few questions.

Thanks for the fast replies Chris. I only have one follow up question regarding the price list you said you will be posting on your site, 2 paragraphs down:
I'm glad to hear you will work with St. Pete's to transfer my refills to Universal for me. I will bet that there will be some demand for this service for either price (if Universal is cheaper than St. Pete's for a given drug that customers are taking) or customer brand selection (as you know, St. Pete's seems to ship both Watson and Able brand Norco depending upon the day vs. Universal where you said earlier that customers can request the "brand" of generic they want (e.g. Watson)).
I will look for the price list on your web site this weekend. Will there be just one price list that will apply to BOTH pharmacies, or will you have a separate list for EACH pharmacy? Separate lists will allow customers to see which pharmacy is cheaper for the drug they want before picking a pharmacy during their consultation, so they get the best price for their meds.
I'll also be on the lookout for shipping specials in the coming weeks when you get everything that you've got going on worked out - Thanks!

Hi Cat,
On the price list/lists; I haven't figured that one out yet. I can't break RXs up i.e: 1 med to one site, and 1 to the other. That would be a complete admin (and potentially legal) nightmare. I am thinking on this though...I just haven't decided yet. I will bring home my paperwork tomorrow night, and scrutinize things.
That is really all I can offer as of yet.

If you do end up posting 2 price lists (one for Universal and one for St. Pete's), just make sure customers know that they have to have all meds prescribed in a given consult sent to ONE of the pharmacies if that is your preference for administrative reasons. (It also makes sense for customers who would otherwise have to pay shipping from EACH place if they split their order).
BTW, a few other OPs do this, so I don't know why it would be illegal. FedXMeds.com comes to mind (which I've used in the past). They let customers choose between either United or TDI when they get their consult. They don't post prices for the pharmacies on their site though so price sensitive customers have to get quotes from both places if they want to shop around before their order. There are other differences that the OP, FedXMeds summarizes on their site, such as different refill policies (23 days vs. 27 days), etc. When you want a refill, the OP is out of it and customers have to contact the pharmacy that has the script directly to fill the script.
(BTW, If a customer had two meds or got two consults for different meds for some reason and wanted one med sent to one pharmacy and one med sent to the other place, they will do it (no legal issues that I know of), but like I said above, it doesn't make any financial sense for the customer who will have to pay 2 separate shipping charges for each script coming from the 2 different pharmacies each month!)
Anyway, I hope you put up two price lists (and any other differences such as refill policies and SHIPPING CHARGES) and you give customers the option of CHOOSING where they want their script(s) sent during their consult! Giving the customer choices is a good thing, trust me. Of course you will have to judge whether there are any administrative issues behind the scenes that I am unaware of.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that having multiple pharmacies with different med prices and letting customers decide which one they want to use has been done by other OPs and it works out fine for them and gives their customers MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY and CHOICE! I'll look forward to your decision on this next week when Universal goes live hopefully. Take Care.

Chris,
Another potential issue with using multiple pharmacies: it would be helpful to have consistency in the generics sold by the different pharmacies.
For example, if a patient has always received Watson hydrocodone or Barr diazepam from St. Pete's, and if that patient then receives another brand from a new pharmacy (e.g., the almost universally despised "Malincroft" brand), you will get a host of complaints.
This can most easily be addressed on the front end by ensuring that your pharmacies agree to dispense the same (quality) generics as an alternative to name-brands. Obviously, in the event of a true shortage of preferred brands, substitutions would have to be made; I think most customers would understand that if it happens infrequently. However, if you get hooked up with a pharmacy that sells the cheapest generics it can get it's hands on, you will have unhappy customers.
Concerning the price issue, you may find that you have enough leverage with the pharmacies you deal with (due to the size and loyalty of your customer base) to negotiate a deal whereby each pharmacy sells the same medications for the same price if they want to do business with you.

Thank you for your insight L5s1,
I have been working hard to find the right pharmacy for your needs. I am very confident that I have. The pricing will be up over the weekend. I am still banging away at some of their prices.
