Access Meds is on the way out - Head's up
      #134314 - 02/05/04 01:15 AM

Given the recent dodgey situation with Access Meds web site and my recent order fiasco I thought I'd let everyone know they are all but useless at this point.

I had been using them for about 3 years now with approximately 4 or 5 orders over that period with no problems. However, that all changed with my most recent order placed January 13th which I received last week.

I originally ordered 1 unit of Librium (100 pills), 3 units of Empacod (60 total) and one unit of Darvon (100 pills). I placed the order, it was accepted and all was well. No warning on too many items in shopping cart or any notification or information to be found on the web site with respect to limitations of 2 items per order.

Things deteriorated shortly after that. In two days I received an e-mail saying (and I quote) "Your Access-Meds Order Status have been changed" with no explanation why. Two days after that I was e-mailed again with the same response "Your Access-Meds Order Status have been changed" again for no apparent reason. At least they did not charge for the dropped items.

What I finally received was 20 Empacods and 100 Darvons. Being rather peeved that I paid for the consult and shipping and ordered multiple items to make the consult and shipping charge (~$50.00 U.S.) more palatable I finally got an answer from them as to what happened and why the order was changed with out my consent or advice (and I quote):

"unfortunately when we opened up we were told that we could only supply 2 items per order per customer, now the health dep have said 3 items is fine, sorry that you are not content, however, please understand that we do have rules which we have to abide to thanks"

This is TOTAL B.S. as I have previously ordered multiple items in one shipment to make the surcharge more palatable. In fact, I know I have ordered 4 or 5 items at once with no issues or e-mails with vague messages like "order has been changed". It looks like they want to up their bottom line by making money on surcarges by limiting items in each shipment. So, take it for what it is worth, but they are off my list of providers as this was the last straw. I suspect they are fading away and I'd recommend avoiding them at this point. Just not worth it and their dodgey web site that is currently uselss, not to mention their 'new' policy of two items per order makes them look like they are on the way out.

Just my 2 cents, if anyone remembers sppedyrx which was like a sister to access, also from same county. The same what happened to you now, but worse happaned to me and many others with speedy, I had a big order and they never sent it, and i never got my money back and shortly after they made up some rules and regulations about how they cannot ship to US and then site was go. Yes they were good for while before that, but I think those pharms becasue at one point in time were the cheapest source for same meds got all arogant about it and the minute you do that in business, you are headed downards. I hate people like that. Im sorry, the memory of my 2 year old order with speedy is coming back to me now, BASTARDS!

I knew something negative was going on with this IOP whenever they shut down for an entite month in December. IOPs just don't do that. Maybe the "changes" going on in the operations are due to the laws and regulations in their country, but more likely they are making a desperate attempt to aquire as much funding as possible at the customer's expense before shutting down for good.

I've used access for at least 2 1/2 years as my ONLY source. I would guess 50 orders or more and received every one of them just as I ordered. Never a seizure or problem with quality of meds. My longest wait was probably 20 days.
My last order (shipped 1/13), I purchased 3 items, and they dropped 1 item but did not charge me for it. So, I placed a second order for the dropped item a few days later (shipped 1/17) it too was accepted. I have not yet received either order and with past history should have gotten them. I am worried now that I won't get it at all after reading the boards lately.
Not that it matters at this point, but they have always closed for the holidays (december) for a month or more...but they always let me order extra to 'hold me over'. Their prices kept going up over the years, but I kept with them as they were reliable for me.
I am at a loss now that they are gone. I don't venture out much to be able to go to a WU to send money because it makes me paranoid. And I hate having to sign for meds. I prefer 100% internet to mailbox ordering. I am sad to see them go and don't know where to turn to now.
Arrggh!

I have ordered from them three times and always getting what i have ordered. The prices are good (i ordered alprazolam) and cheaper than (for example) Destinyrx.
Now they seem to have closed down and shall open up again in april.
Another thing: wheter or not they want to close down over the christmas and new year-weekends I think is their free choise. If you dont like it, then just dont shop there.

Closing for a holiday is fine...changing orders at THEIR whim is not OK.

I was hosed and I fail to find any information on their site (if and when it works!) saying "Limit 2 items per purchase" and as I said before, why can I fill my basket with 4 or 5 items, check out and get no warning that I'm 'overstocked'? Let alone changing my order post hoc - TWICE!. This is dubious behavior and a sign of impending collapse. I will no longer use them.

Their prices are not all that great either, especially when I you split the 50.00 consult/shiping charge to the two items which basically doubled the cost of the meds I received. See ya....better providers and better service elsewhere.

Actually, a little company in Europe took the entire month of December off. It was called Pharmasus. A month or two later, they went out of business.

My last order from Access-Meds was about 6 mos ago. Have they changed all their rules since then? I usually would go for 100ct of whatever, then choose 2 different 100ct of whatever, totaling 3 items. I remember the three item rule from way back and made it pay off by only choosing 100ct items off the list. I would usually end up with a variety of 300 units for extremly low price. Sometimes the quality of the lower priced items wasn't even worth it though. I just always figured that I'd use them if nobody else could deliver. What a bummer if they are going under and losing credibility...They were always a bit pricey as well for name brand items.

Actually, that little company took lots of time off! Seemed like every other month Pharmasus shut down to catch up on orders.

They were great. But, just as you said, after the last December break, they were gone! And some of my money too!

I do feel Access is headed the same way as Pharmasus and Speedy. Laws change all the time. And it's probable these places make so much money that they don't need the hassle of trying to circumvent the laws.

I admit that I don't post much on this board but I have gained alot of valuable information from it. The first site I ordered from was access-meds. I received it in a shorter time than expected. I have never been taken advantage of or lost money due to this company. I also was one of the lucky or unlucky ones to get an order through in January before their site went to Best if kept off the board. I emailed them about it and got a quick response. They confirmed the mailing and the resigning. They also stated I should receive it shortly. I am hoping for best. If any thing good comes from it, I will post again.

It's too bad they aren't what they used to be. Maybe 3 weeks (?) ago the exchange rate (USD) was much improved from the high in early December, altho still not great. I was thinking of placing an order but am now glad I didn't try. To think just a few months ago I would have rated them as one of the most dependable... *sigh*

I don't think it's fair to slam access-meds on the current state of affairs until someone finds out what happened. I think they got busted. I think they want to come back as soon as possible but that is up to the courts. That's what I think and I offer it as a balance to the posts that they intentioanlly ran up prices and surcharges to slam the customer before they closed on purpose, in sort of a rip-off fashion. For what it's worth. b5t3

I received my (1/13) order today unscathed. Quality is good as well. Hope that helps anyone else waiting for orders that got them in before the site changed. I don't know what is up with them, but I have always liked the service.
