The only thing that ever worked for me was Gatorade. If I drank water it would come right back up. Orange juice is too acidic for me and would make it worse, but everyone is different.

After careful experimentation, I have found that if you drink alot of water, and I mean alot, like 32oz. or more right before you go to bed you will wake up feeling fine...almost like you have not drank anything the night before. Lots of water..that is the key!

Wow, I just found this thread and I had this SAME problem! I honestly started thinking I was an alcoholic...even though I had always been able to drink with no problems, and now I drink on occasion but not enough to get 'drunk' or have a hangover. I think a lot of that may be that I can't imagine keeping up with my son with a horrible hangover! Anyway, I never really linked the paxil with the urge I had to drink...not until I read this. AND I also remember alcohol effecting me much differently...as said in previous post, it was definitely more of a high. It's amazing what you can learn here. I am feeling relieved after reading this...thanks guys!

Oh...my cure for a hangover was always a Lortab even though I knew the apap was BAD NEWS! It just seems to really help with the body cramps from dehydration...I use the same cure when I have the flu or a bad cold.

Either 2 vicoden (5/500) and 1 xanax (.25mg) or:

put 2 scoop real vanilla in blender.
add real chocolate syrup (don't use chocolate icream -- must be vanilla)
add club soda

Blend.

Works well for me.

optional to add a spoonful of ground coffee -- for some reason Folgers brand or something that comes in a can works better than a local-coffee-roaster even if the latter is better quality, in which it most assuredly is.

Wow -for the first time I disagree with one of Julz posts! Actually, I don't disagree since I rarely drink & wouldn't know if her remedy works or not. I had Dasani's reaction of "Yuck, scrambled eggs & chocolate milk sound really barfy." & I'm not hung over! Catmom

Well, I used to chug about a 1/2 gallon of milk in the morning. Oh, how that put out the fire after having dry guts! Another thing I liked to do was have a bloody mary. Puts some hair on your chest, or at least it feels like it, but it helped a great deal. Then there would be times I would take a couple of tylenol before going to bed, but these days that's a no-no. Do not mix apap with alcohol! Just my 2 cents.

I haven't had a drink in almost four years, but in the days when I did sometimes overindulge, I used to find that massive quantities of ice cold Coca Cola made me feel MUCH better...the sugar helps with your blood sugar bottoming out, and coke syrup is an old-fashioned cure for nausea...it always made me feel better!

I agree with the Coka-Cola. That, and a handful of oxycontin usually does the trick.

I am not a big drinker but on those mornings it seems there are two avenues to take w/out pills, stay in bed and let nature take its course (I will feel bad all day) or...........

Drag your self out of bed , shower, drink some gatoraid and sweat it out. I would run for 30-45 mins with a small water bottle in hand filled again with gator aid. Shower again, then go shopping. Works for me.

If really bad and have to take pills use Temgesic has no-tylenol.

i used to party a lot. which included heavy usage of whiskey and tequila. after i started taking pain meds for cervical disc problems and fibromyalgia i completely lost all desire to imbibe.
and there wasn't a day that went by that i didn't at least stop by the bar after work for at a couple of beers or whatever with "the crew".
i wonder which is harder on the liver. i do like not having hangovers and remembering what i did and said the next day too
now just the idea of alcohol turns me off.
what IS up with that?

From what I know: Hydration is the key. Drink plenty of water, both before and after. And make it water. Some people talk about sports drinks, but the sugar in 'em doesn't really help the situation.

Hi, i think the reason wellbrutrion helps curb drinking and smoking, is because wellbrution inhibits the dopamine reciptors in the brain remember Pavlos dogs? This is your reward center. There was a great article on this called the Fires of the Mind , on the health channel awhile back.
