i recently read that when sending medical records to a op for hydro requests it needs to show where one has been prescribed hydro prior. i have chronic lower back pain (muscle spasms) and my pcp has only given me skelatin and bexar with little or no relief. a couple months ago i had to have a root canal so my dentist gave me a script for hydro before and after procedure. i only needed a few and i and i tried some for my back pain and found great relief. anyways that is how i know about hydro but it is from dentist and not pcp. with this being said, my question is since pcp has never prescribed hydro will that pose a problem since it is not in medical records. thanks for any feedback. it is greatly appreciated! Some OP's do require, as part of their own policies, that a previous prescription is required before writing for a new fill. Their reasons vary, but a valid reason is a measure of assurance that you have tolerated the medication well, are familiar with its effects and side-effects, and have not had an adverse reaction to it.
I recommend contacting each OP you consider to determine its policies if they are not clearly set forth online. I recommend considering Norco Worldwide as a starting point, as they are very accessible, highly reliable with relatively short turn-around times, and offer excellent customer service at an excellent overall value.
Hi ,
Just as a side note. I have had many problems associated with my right ankle and right knee. Have had one surgery associated to this. I will not bore you with any more details. I have 6 MRI 's. When I requested my records from radiology as well as my ortho not one report from the ortho mentioned medication therapy. I take that back , on one report the Doctor says " we will continue to control the pain with Endocet", which by the way I was the one who gave him that name, it was the generic for percocet they were giving me at the pharmacy. Now over the year I have used 2 ops and they have accepted the records and never asked once about prior scripts. I'm sure they never saw the endocet remark because it took me a while to find it. I think due to the nature of the records they speak for themselves. Yet everytime my Doc writes one it's on NCR paper so that he has a copy for the record. So I'm confused. But if you're records indicate you're need for the type of medication, follow Hoss's rule and give NWW a try. I don't think you'll have a problem. In fact if you're records are really well put together , any OP will take them. Hope it helps.
Best Regards,
Hoop
