My Condition - my situation - Need Advice!
      #131237 - 01/24/04 12:18 AM

I have an intermitant but fairly steady pain problem, one that doesnt always hit me with the same intensity but at times it gets unbearable. I've had the misfortune of getting whiplash 3 times in the last 10 years. The neck pain started 2 years after the last one - just reaching for something in a cupboard. One time I coughed and it triggered a spasm with severe pain that lasted two weeks straight that even limited the use of my left arm. I always have a steady nagging pain but deal with it without taking anything (working out and stretching has helped a bit when I can) - but at times when I really get spasms and severe pain I need something for a few days til it lets go and subsides to point where I can deal with it. I've been to several specialists (and chiro's) and none can put a finger on it in terms of "curing" the problem (one suggested it MIGHT be a Disrupted Disc that does not enter the spinal canal or a facet joint injury, some contradicted that and another outright disagreed, all basically left me to deal with the pain) - as a result I gave up with doctors and none wanted to help me out with scripts for pain as they are "addictive", as if a person can't be responsible enough to only use it when neccesary. I don't want to be strung out on hydro any more than dealing with pain so I only take it when I absolutely can't deal with the pain. Since I have no current records (most are 2 years or older), I have used the OP's that didnt require them until as of late (ie UsPharmacyRx) which was relatively cheap but is now closed. Since a bottle of 90 10/325's lasts me about 3 months I havent had to order very often and not at all with records. What do you suggest I do with my vague but very real problem? I can go to the walk-in clinic that I did go to about my neck pain not too long ago and get copies of that visit. I told him of my whiplash's and the nature of my pain. He gave me 20 5/500 hydro with no refill. Is this sufficient records for a consult with a legit OP if I can further elaborate my problem with the consult doctor? What OP do you suggest I contact? Any help would be appreciated...

If your visit to the walk-in clinic was fairly recent (less than a year old), those records would probably do, as it shows that you have sought treatment for the problem and that the doctor did provide you with pain medication. Even if the records are more than a year old, you could still give it a shot at an OP, most places will refund you almost all of your consult fee if no prescription is given. Hope this helps, and good luck!

One more thing you can do-- I had to do this when moving from a l"ess restrictive" to to a "more responsible" USOP, is to give your old meds bottles a bath. Soak 'em in tepid water, no soap, and what ever you do, don't scrub! A couple of hours should sufficem it probably depends on the mineral content of your tapwater. Then care fully, carefully peel it off. A little it of white fuzz will remain on the bottle, but the monet you see of feel anything more sustantial sticking stop immediately and start pulling from a different edge. Often you will wind having to pull up from 28 different points to get the d8mhed thing off.

However, if you are really having a hard time getting the thing off, dont get frustrated, Just smooth edges down and soak it awhile. I used a benzo script from the pre-records era of NWW as my primary record for valium at MMC. . . and this was beforeThe Geat Florida OP Purge. The other part of my record was a print of from pharmacy showing that I had been scripted Valium about a year prior. The moral? I think the USOPs' gravest concern is the same as every corporation: lrgal liability. I demonstrated that I had used not only the benzo I was requesting, but also several other a(ehich I listed) and was alive today.

If you purchase a drug dealer and it kills you, they can indicted on manslaughter or murder. Same thing.

If you want the extra extra ressurance of new records go see a doc in the box, by all means. Or throw a hammer at your foot and go to the ER. Boom, you've got records.

DJ,

I would think that if you sent your current records from the clinic along with your outdated records you would be ok, they would be able to have the more detailed info from the specialists along with the recent info that they require.

For spasms you can't beat valium, they're a god-send, I strained my sacroiliac joint years ago and coulnd't move, sleep or anything. 5mg of Valium and I felt much better all round.

Also I sometimes get muscle spasms in my neck so bad that they cause days-worth of migraine-quality head pains (that narcotics don't get rid of), that once I was in hospital for A WEEK before they realised I was having neck spasms and gave me Valium.

hope this helps some. as far as I;m concerned Destiny Rx is the route for Gen V's if you haven't tried that route.

Diazepam is a very effective muscle relaxer, but I believe that the risk of tolerance and dependence makes it not worth the potential pitfalls. Most long term muscle spasm sufferers tend to prefer muscle relaxers like Soma and Zanaflex (Soma seems to be the most popular). Doctors are a little more relaxed about prescribing muscle relaxers than benzos like valium.
A new muscle relaxer, called skelaxin, is the only muscle relaxer I've found that didn't cause drowsiness, but it isn't as effective for me.
good luck,
daddyj
