They are having a lot of trouble - I have been trying to order a small order of a low-scheduled med they have a good price on, that I order maybe 2-3 times a year from them, I have been trying for the last 3 weeks (since they re-opened) I have had an account with for almost 4 years, and I can't get anything to work... I realize the site has worked 'on and off' a few times, as I have seen where a few people have gotten orders in, these past 3 weeks. But I'd say that 90% of the time since they re-opened, their website has been non-functionable...

I have a feeling, and it is not a good one.... Sorry to be a pessimist. But the 'other' big S.African OP (SpeedRxNet) - had these same things happen before they folded. (They included an 'Upload your Prescription' link, and then they started having a multitude of mysterious problems, and then folded. Access also added the 'upload prescription' link, which to me, says that they are planning on requiring a prescription in the future possible. S. Africa is almost as strict as the U.S or more, with pharmaceuticals, especially exports. When SpeedRx closed, they stated it was due to S. African law and not being able to send controlled meds overseas (especially to the U.S) anymore... I fear (but really do think) that this is about to happen with Access. I have infact been wondering how they managed to get around these new SAfrican laws if SpeedRx was being honest about them.

These IOP's - regardless of what the laws are in OUR country, the bigger/more legit international pharmacies DO have to follow some regulations, I am sure some don't - but these bigger ones like Access, Pharmagroup, etc - are most likely well known by the Medical Boards of the countries they exist in. The laws on them 'exporting' and us 'importing' are totally different. Of course ordering from an IOP, for a U.S citizen, is completely/totally at the risk of the customer. BUT - some of these more well-known OP's are also well-known by the country they reside in, and must follow, to some degree, the laws on what can or cannot be exported to the U.S and other countries (EU countries, Canada, etc) Thus, the reason for no strong pain meds at IOP's - SO - we may be seeing AccessMeds finally brought down by the same regulations that did Speedy in... I really think that is what is happening. I think they be 'no more' in a couple months, or sooner.

The adding of the 'Upload your Prescription' link was the first sign, in my opinion. They know that, we know that - a U.S Rx does not hold any significance at a S.African pharmacy. They were obviously doing that (adding that to the website) to look good for someone or another (most likely enforcement in their own country) - So I think we may be seeing the end of Access - as I have stated, I am not just basing this on their website problems, there are MANY other tell-tale signs that this is what is occuring.... I hope it's not true cuz they are one of the last survivors of the 'original IOP's' (they been around over 5 years - I have known about them about 4 years - someone posted on a newsgroup he used them 9 years ago!! They have been around a longgggg time I hope I am wrong but I am seeing exactly what happened to SpeedRx at Access lately. The vague script requirement, the website difficulties (most likely 'holding off orders' until regulations are worked out or enforced, etc) - Doesn't seem good. I hope this doesn't happen at more IOP's.

I am sure alot is based on FDA pressure. (They have international reach - and I am sure most of the problem is the FDA pressuring the pharmaceutical industries/medical boards of other countries into 'submitting' to not exporting anymore) - I dunno, but I don't think these signs of late are good by any means.

Thanks for all the info zeuzjuz, I also had a bad feeling when I could only rarely get in the shopping areas and then not at all. Then noticed the upload prescription link that I didn't remember seeing before. PharmaOnNet seems to have been abruptly pulled and forced to close down as well, I think they were in Switzerland. Could very well be based on FDA pressure as you said, possibly due to recent high profile events and I fear things will get worse before they get better. Hope I am wrong.

it's not so much as the website does not function because I think it is, it's just that they have disconnected the links on purpose, that's my feeling. The page acts like the links have been made non-functional via the html script. Why? Time will tell I guess. I think they are "down" on purpose and for a reason.
