Any ideas on how to sleep? I do work and this not getting any sleep at night is killing me. The Pain med is the only medicine I take and I'm trying hard to keep it that way. Don't want to be a pill head.

Same here. You'd think that an opioid analgesic might help you sleep, but if I take hydro too late in the day I toss and turn all night. Once in a while I take an Ambien, but like you I don't want to start relying on too many pills.
I've had to take ambien on a regular basis, for the fact that I already had pre-existing insomnia for years, before hydro, so now it's almost a requrement. I, like you all don't want to have a pill for this a pill for that, ect, but sometimes it's just the way substances act on the body, that forces you to expand the medicine cabinet a bit. Overall I still stop taking hydro at least 4 hours before I plan on going to bed.
Thanks for the feedback. I usually take my pain meds when I get home for work around 6:00PM. I know that means I won't be able to sleep, but to be honest, I'm in so much pain at the time, I don't care. It looks like I'm just going to have to deal with it...
