Again, I have to ask at the risk of sounding stupid, What is codiene phospate? IS it pure Codiene w/ no additives like apap? I saw it on a IOP list but it didn't give a desciption of exactely what it is. I'm thinking of laying off Hydro for awhile and want to try this, but I want to know exactely what it is b4 I put it in my system. I have degenerative discs in my back and the consults and costs of meds and shipping are killing me so I was wondering if this med would help?

Yes, codeine phosphate is "pure" codeine with no additional active ingredients, though the tabs still contain the usual fillers & binders. The drug codeine has two "salts", codeine phosphate & codeine sulfate...the former is the formulation one finds in the vast majority of codeine-based meds - Tylenol 1-5 (with APAP), codeisan, perduretas, syrups, etc. Its very rare to find a commonly sold med made with codeine sulfate.
