Hi I found new bottle refill of what says Alprazolam in my boyfriends dresser while I was putting away the laundry. He is prescribed Anxiety meds, My Alpraz is 1mg always round.
This is a Bar shaped pill scored from the top down

ANY RESPONSE WOULD BE TRULY APPRECIATED. I DON;T WANT HIM TAKING ANYTHING THAT COULD HURT HIM OR Having a pharmacy mix up which does happpen hurt him-

That is Geneva brand Alprazolam 2mg - same thing you are taking except 2mg's instead of 1mg. I am prescribed to Alprazolam 2mg as well, and usually receive the Geneva brand - exact imprint code you described. Yes, it is generic Xanax 2mg.
In the future - a good place to look up imprint codes is at www.rxlist.com You click on 'Advanced Search' then 'Imprint Code Search' - and then you simply type in the numbers/letter imprinted on the pill and it will give you a database/list of what medications match up with those numbers. Hope that helps.

BTW -
The reason the 2mg's are in the 'bar-shape' and divided into 4 equal parts, is so that you can break off either 0.5mg's, 1mg's, 1.5mg's, or of course take the whole bar - 2mg's ... 2mg's is a pretty large dose of Alprazolam (puts me right to sleep) -
So they do this , so that the patient can adjust doseages as necessary. It works out really well, the bar-shape is my choice with Alprazolam - because you can adjust as necessary. For instance, for an acute panic attack you can break off just 0.5mg's and take it for the immediate anxiety - For a regular doseage, for general anxiety, you could break it in half and take the 1mg doseage. It is also much more cost-effective to buy them in this form, as they are not much more expensive than the 1mg - I only take 1mg at a time, but I request the 2mg's - because it is cheaper. I can break them in half, half in the morning, half at night, and break off just 1/4th for an anxiety attacks, and it saves me alot of money because I only need #30 or so per month.... Just an FYI.

Thank you!!!! Someone at CVS f'd up becuase he was prescibed 90 1mg 1 3x per day which I have seen as the footballs and round. But there is actually 90 of these 2mg . Wow a miracle of more bang for the buck and if I need to borrow some of his In an emergency such as I just went through w/ NWW( and I know you all saw!!!  ) than I won't feel guilty.

Those will help with the w/d's from opiates immensely. I would set aside some just in case it happens again.
That is just what I would do personally.
It will knock out the anxiety, help you with sleep, and help iwth the RLS(restless leg syndrome) that accompanies opiate witdrawal.
Although you don't want to get caught up getting addicted to those. If you have been through opiate withdrawal its a walk in the park compared to anxiety medication withdrawal.
Anxiety med w/ds can for one kill you, and you will wanta to die if they don't. You will have the worst anxiety that you have EVER had. You will also go into seizures and other stuff that you NEVER want to experience. Not to mention that if you do get addicted to them, it can take up to a year to completely. A nightmare from what I have heard.

I also just wanted to state that i've been through Hydro withdrawl once and Alprazolam withdrawl twice, and to be honest the one day Alprazolam withdrawl wasn't that bad compared to feeling like I had the flu for a week like on Hydro.
Also, the seizure risk isn't a big deal unless you are taking a lot or stop out of the blue. If I have withdrawl from any other Benzos I will be sure to post, thanks.
