I have a 3 month course of Phentermine that I started on about 3 weeks ago. However of the side effects, by far the worse is the insomnia. Not a good sleeper at the best of times, it's driving me crazy with less than an hours sleep a night. I bought the Phentermine at full price coz I don't live in the US and don't have any probs with it other than that so I don't want to give up on it yet. What's the opinion on taking ambien with it? (Well, not WITH it I mean at night!) Or can anyone recommend anything else?

Are you taking the phentermine once a day in the AM or 3x a day before meals?
Ambien should be okay, but it won't help you sleep if you take it every night.
If you aren't taking the phentermine in the AM only, that is the advice I'd offer, just take it one.
If you are taking the lower dose 3x a day, take your last dose atleast 8 hours before you want to sleep.

I'm taking 30mg first thing in the morning (about 7am) but it's still causing sleeplessness 16 hours later.
