I have been pondering with the question for a while now and I decided to post it, I am on Norco and I noticed that when I started taking it, I got really bad acne, then I stopped taking it cause I ran out and I noticed I cleared up very quickly, the acne I got when I was on it was like someone took a pellet gun and shot me at clse range it is awful. I just stopped my norco again cause I ran out and don't have another refill until the 2nd of Jan so I am going to see if I clear up. But has anyone else experienced this problem?
Sounds like a minor allergic reaction to me???? You may want to get that tested by a doctor and see if they can pin-point the exact cause, may it be chemically induced, dehydration, body temp. raised when on hydro, ect.. I really don't know, but it wouldn't be safe to have some sort of reaction to it and not get it tested.
I agree w/ Tred, I've never seen a post about Hydro and Acne. Everyones body chemisrty is different, and it does sound like an allergic reaction. Definately talk to your Dr about this as he/she will be able to identify the problem and help you to switch to a different med. I'm sorry you're having this problem and wish you all the best.

Could be an allergic reation, but more than likely what I have experience.
If you only take hydro occassionally, when you take it-your body secretes more facial "oil" than usual. This is only during a time when a persons body is getting used to the hydro.
I didn't get bad acne but did ask my MD about having an oily face while on hydro?? He said very common.
Also, about acne; my dermatologist told me to only wash very gently twice daily with Cetaphil and Cetaphil moisturizer. It worked great. After about two weeks, I was pretty clear. You also may want to ask your Dr. (PCP or dermatologist) about "TRIAZ Pads". It works great for minor acne. It reduces swelling and redness.
Sorry to banter but I know how psychologically devaststing mild/moderacte acne can be.
My doctor reminded me that washing 3 or 4 times a day did nothing but make the acne worse (and red). He said it is a bacteria and over washing definately does not help in any way.
