Does anyone know if halcion is stronger/better or more effective than restoril (temazepam)?

Hell Yeah, I take Temazepam(sometimes) and compared to Halcion its like taking a bayer asprin, Halcion is strong sheet man. If you need to remember things when you take halcion... forget it. Those things are mind erasers. Very good stuff though.

Temazapam is MUCH LESS habit forming than Triazolam. With the known risks of each drug Temazapam would be a better choice for short term treatment of insomnia.

Halcion is heavy duty stuff. It works but it makes you a total zombie. I personally would never ever take that stuff again. Don't know a thing about restoril, so can't comment on that! One xanax and I'm out for the night!
Best wishes!

Dude Straight-Up,
Halcion is the stronger of the two and has some residual effects if you need to taper off or even worse if the doc stops prescribing, there's this intense rebound anxiety and insomnia, that takes "U" for a "REELLY" roller coast ride and takes a while for you to overcome. That's the "zombie" phase someone mentioned before, I've been there, you don't want to go there!! If you're going to go with Halcion, it's gonna have to be on a "On and Off" basis, that's when I noticed I didn't get any withdrawal symptoms. Like You take it on a Saturday take a break and take something else for the next three days, like for example 100mg of Trazadone or 350mg of Soma, then like on Wednesday you can pop Halcion again, it's like you have to space it out. If you take it on a daily basis, it's only takes a couple of weeks, and you can go into withdrawal in less 24 hours, Halcion only has a half-life of 2 hours. It's worse then going through "Xanax" withdrawals. As for Temezepam, never "REELLY" worked for me, at least the ones in the U.S., cuz there power-based capsules, the ones I took in the Britain, they were "REELLY" good, they were liquid-based green gelcaps, what a difference, various delivery methods can make, when choosing the same med. I mean with Temezepam you also go through withdrawal (there both benzos afterall), but it's not as intense or prolonged as it is with Halcion. The "Zolams", like "Trizolam" (Halcion) or "Alprazolam" or (XanaX), for some reason seem creepy when you try to stop taking them, they don't give you up without a fight, whereas "Zepams", like "Temezepam" and/or Restoril or "Nitrazepam" and/or Mogadon (not available in the U.S.) also have withdrawal syndrome, but it's easier to handle on the mind and body. And it all comes down to Potency and half-lives that determine what type of withdrawal you are going to go through, hopefully it never happens to you. Halcion, true to it's nature, is the "weirdest" of the bunch. But also very effective for Insomnia, like a "MAD SCIENTIST", it's "hell-bent" on getting the job done, with or without you.
