Hi, just moved to Ft. Lauderdale and was wondering if anyone knew of a good doc for pain medications in south FL. Thanks in advance.

I'm not passing ANY judgment here...I swear! But I'd never, never, never give out the name of my doctor for the reason that there are just too many people who would abuse it and it could ruin it for me. ALthough I hope very much that you establish a relationship with a sympathetic doctor, it's gotten so bad that it feels like I have to "protect my source." Thing is, I've had the same doctor for over a decade and maybe he wouldn't prescribe for a new patient like he does for me. Then again, I worry that any day he could change his mind about prescribing narcotics (C-2's) and I would be left to my own devices...I would then be very hopeful that someone would share the name of their good doctor with me...it's really a catch 22!

It is a miserable situation. I found my last doctor by asking a pharmacist; but his license was revoked eventually using the same double standards that we have seen over and over.
I went through a wretched time, but finally went pain free for years!!! with accupuncture.
Now my pain has returned in force, in my muscles,bones, nerves, it is different this time.
But I do not doubt for a second, that if if a compassionate, consistent, and speedy approach to pain control existed, I would not be at this level right now.
My body has learned to recognize pain. So now the mind follows. Once again, so much of my usefullness is compromised by my use of time in finding relief---hot pads, ice pads, ointment, showers, vitamins, postive thought, distraction, prayer, remembering that others are more deserving of relief and in direr circumstance than I will ever be.
Would I protect a local doctor that could just prescribe a course of therapy (physical) and meds and let me use my days?
YOU BET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Especially after being used by so many people who tried to befriend me in those waiting rooms; when what they really wanted was for me to let them in my house so they could go on a mission of search and seizure thru my belongings.
That being said, I really really hate that I have become this way.

There is a list on the vip board of good Dr. and pain clinics in many areas around  the country.

OMG Prettyday!!! You have actually had what you described in your reply, happen?? That is unbelievable. I do not understand how some people can be. I am literally sitting here with my mouth hanging open!!! If you feel like going into details, I'd be interested in your story...if you don't, I would understand...you have every right to feel guarded!! I am just so shocked!
