Consult tomorrow
      #121816 - 12/10/03 11:52 AM

Tomorrow I have a consult with YOD. I sent my records in today. What can I expect? How much will everything cost? Their website doesn't offer any of this info. Thanks for any help.

Mark,

All the consults are relatively painless, but it really depends on the doctor. The doctor I got was very thorough with me and actually he gave me some very good advice for my back problems, so the more thorough he/she is, the better. As for prices, that hinges on whether or not you have the VIP discount and what type of shipping you choose. Look at the posts on the YOD thread and you will learn alot about them, like the shipping costs and med costs, based on others experiences. Good Luck.

Price wise, the pharmacy they use is Woody's, and has excellent prices. To give you a comparison, my last consult service was cheap cheap cheap (DCH) with the VIP discount they were offering, but I was paying around $175 for 140 quanity norco's, vs. about $80-90 with woody's, for 90 quanity.
They have great service, doctors are nice. etc.
This was my first service over a year ago, and I too was nervious....
everything was fine.
As long as you haVe records documenting that you have successfully taken the medication you are requesting, you should be fine.
Good Luck!

I just had my consult and it went great! I guess when you have the documentation to prove the problems you really have things go great. The Dr. was very nice. Now, he said I would have the meds tomorrow. How do I track this? Thanks again for the help. These boards have really helped me see that I'm not alone in dealing with this. It's crazy how close to my situation many people are in. Afraid to talk about how the pain affects your life with your family. A pain free Christmas will be great!

Mark,

I read somewhere that if you want to be able to track your package from Woody's (that's YOD's Pharmacy), you need to let Woody's know that you would like a tracking number sent to you via e-mail once the package is scanned. Other than that, just wait until about 9pm and go to the UPS website and under Track by Reference Number, type in your last Name (in all CAPS) immediately followed by your postal code, i.e
SMITH55555, select US, and track it. Good luck.

I sent all pertinent records of my surgery and other procedures done. I also showed my last visit to my Dr. that was this week and his recomendation for PT. Also, I sent the consult questionnaire. I hope that helps you.

thanks. sounds like I may need more records. All I have are my MRI results. I could get my PT orders, and prior bloodwork. But would rather not invlove my primary care doctor anymore by asking for records.

Glad to hear it, Mark.

In addition to what Dasani said, sometimes it also works if you type in the first two letters of your last name with your zip code. So if your last name is Smith, you would enter SM12345 in the reference number section. Woody's is very good though, I'm sure you will get it tomorrow.

There isn't anything wrong with asking for your records. Ask one of the staff at his/her office about them. Just say you would like some of your records for you own information and to have handy in case you need continued or emergency care out of town. You have a right to those records, and your doctor shouldn't think anything about you asking for them.

Good Luck

I received my meds today. That's pretty good service. I'm impressed by both YOD and Woody's. And the prices are good too. Ok, that makes me a believer.
