Forgive me if this has been posted recently or archived. I did a search and didn't really find what I was looking for before posting this so as to save the problem of wearing out an old question. I've been reading these boards for a couple months now however I have never posted (call me a lurker) because I have been considering replacing my semi-local doctor for (hopefully) better service.
What I am inquiring about is suggestions for OPs who do not require records until the first refill. I went to my regular doctor nearly 3 weeks ago when I finally decided to make the change. I requested my medical records while I was in visitation however she told me that she was very busy (as did the secretary, nurse, and the other assistants) and couldn't get them out for me but would send them to me. (How long could it take to copy a few papers?) Now I have a little more than a week's worth of pain medication and still they have not sent my records to me despite my constant reminding. So, to give me a little more time to hassle my doctor's office to send my records, I am looking for a reputable OP who doesn't require them until at least the first refill. I'd hate to keep handing my current doctor money for such unorganization and irresponsibility.
In case you were wondering, the reason I have left my doctor is due to irresponsibility (a couple times my appt was early on a Fri. and they failed to fax my prescription to their pharmacy on any of their 4 times they do so in a day, leaving me with no meds til the following Monday, plus having to drive 60 miles BACK to the pharm.) among other things.
Would it be possible for you to go into your doctor's office and request them again? If they give you the, "We're real busy speech," just politely say, "I'll wait, and it will save you the added expense of postage."
Just an idea if you could do it, and you could sit there and see just how "busy" they really are.
Yea, I can do that. I will have to go back there in a week, that is, if I don't find an OP first, to get my medication. Last time, they didn't seem too busy to copy what she already had in her hands for me, as when I arrived 30 minutes early to my appt, I only waited less than 5 minutes to see her, although there were probably 10 or so people in the waiting room.
I was just hoping that I wouldn't have to give them my money anymore when they don't even do their job properly 70% of the time. I wonder what hassles will happen if I go in a week.....
