Relax, BuyMeds Confirms Website Difficulties...
      #122095 - 12/11/03 11:55 AM

Rec the following e-mail from BuyMeds a few minuites ago:

Dear Valued Customer,

Yesterday afternoon our hosting provider experienced several catastrophic server malfunctions, making it impossible to access any of the sites associated with those servers. Unfortunately, buymeds.com has been affected. We want to assure you that as a company, we remain stable and compliant, and are diligently working to reinstate connectivity as quickly as possible. We have been informed that we can expect to be back up within the next 24 hours at the latest, hopefully much sooner.

In the meantime, our Customer Support interface depends on access to the same online location as our website, and therefore, we are unable to provide any support during this down time. We thank you for your patience and ask that you check back with us online throughout the day to check the status of the site and your order.

Kind Regards,
Buymeds.com Customer Support
http://www.buymeds.com

Looks like all is well!

Hope this calms some nerves!

Brian

Let's all be nice to the CS reps when they come back online! I know that a ton of us (myself included) are waiting on orders, so let's do our best to be patient and let them work with us. They were running behind BEFORE the website went down, so chances are they will have to play some more "catch-up" to get us our meds. Again, let's all be patient and work with them.

Sending 100 e-mails w/threats of chargebacks for a problem that was not even theirs to begin with will not help things. If everyone sends nasty e-mails and calls in w/nasty attitudes & threats, they will just take the phones off the hook. And for those who are able to get through, their attitudes towards you will be reflective of the calls they received before you called in. Chill w/the e-mail & phone call threats. Just remember, they are one of the last of a dying breed and they are SLAMMED right now!

BuyMeds has always come through for me. Our meds will arrive, so let's all take a deep breath...and relax!

Regards,
Brian

This is probably a completely idiotic question, but if they are having such major computer problems, how are they able to send out emails? PLease forgive my ignorance. My husband runs a major business's network, but I'm lucky if I can turn on the computer.

I got the same email and do not even have an order pending. I ordered from them months ago. My point being, they probably did a mass mailing as they are probably getting a lot of freaked out customers. I agree with Brian in that everyone who does have an order should relax cause if they take the phone off the hook and stop opening the emails everyone will be even more in the dark. I believe if they would have closed the doors that would be it-no email, no nothing. At least they're trying to keep customers aware of what is going on and if it's out of they're control then everyone just has to be patient. Like was said in a post earlier, they are the last of a dying breed unless you want to go to Expedia and pay $300 for the same thing. Just my HO,and trying to help, please dont yell at me.

Curious, I wouldn't yell at you for that reply. It makes total sense. I was just wondering how the whole computer "thing" breaks down. No pun intended. What exactly they can and can't do.

Right on Curious! BuyMeds actually had some kind of tech problem a while back and sent e-mails out to all current and past customers. They get a really bad rep on this board, and it isn't deserved. Whatever is in the past...is in the past. I mean, hey, they outlasted Tropical, MedPharm, and a slew of other "sure-fire OPS." They are quite behind, but they have always come through for me and a bunch of other DBers I keep in touch with regularly. Check the posts. Anywhere from a 4-9 day turn-around time, sometimes you get e-mail confirmation, and in better times you get an actual tracking number! But meds DO come. Better late than never, especially since it's either them or Expedia! Think about it...
