HELP HUSBAND HAS DRUG TEST TOMMOROW new
      #119601 - 12/01/03 01:42 PM

My husband has a drug test comming up tommorow and he took 1 klonopin on saturday night to help him get to sleep now on Tuesday he will have a drug test. Does anyone know if this will show up in his system. I do know that they do not give just the dick stick test they do send it off to a lab. Also is there anything he can take to clear out his system some. This is the only medication he does not have a precription for. I have a prescription but I know it won't work for him. I am just afraid because this company is laying people off left and right and to avoid having to give employees there severighn packages they would rather find probable cause to terminate employment. Any help you can give us would be greatly apprecaited.

If he's a pilot. I would be concerned. But for most other types of employment including law enforcement. All he has to do is simply state all medications he's recently taken. The only time it would probably be an issue is if his test results came back with a "street drug" in his system. I've been drug tested before (on the job) and have written down that I have taken Vicodin recently, (it was my vicodin) but then they never asked. It probably came back in my test, but I told them about it up front and like I said, it was never an issue. Most tests are given to detect Illegal street drugs. I don't want to give you false hope, but I was in Law enforcement when I had my test and it was never an issue. Telling the truth upfront seems to make a big difference.

I was given a drug test a year ago for a job. I had a script for ativan and hydro. I took the test and didn't tell the drugs I was on and passed. Years ago you had to bring in all the drugs otc and scripts you were taking, but I think that it illegal now. I think they are testing for illegal street drugs. I've heard that goldenrod, which is something that you get at a health food store is supposed to help clean you out if you are still concerned.

Don't sweat it, they ain't looking for that. They are looking for Opiates, which hydro falls under, marijuanna, crack, herion.........
Just went thru this myself a week ago, and tested positive for the opiates, but i had told them ahead of time i had taken a pain pill, etc.
Had all kinds of HELP posts on the VIP board.

I would have a slight disagreement to the "dont sweat it" theory. Klonopin has a very long half life, and depending on the job, benzos are pretty common to test for. Not to make things more stressfull, but klonopin has a pretty large half life.
My advice is to get a script for any benzo from one of the point and clicks pharms preferably Xanax USA (my fav because of speed) and at least he can have it comming fed ex during the test. Most of the time, (in my experience) they ask you to write down everything you have taken, not to actually show them the bottle. If they do, tell them you didnt know you needed that bottle and it is at home, it will buy some time for some xanax or valium to come in fast.
I hope this makes sense, remember, they cannot detect Klonopin, they can only detect a the BENZO family. I was eating xanax like skittles before my last big drug test and wrote down that I was taking klonopin for sleep and passed it with flying colors. As for the test I took, It was a 10 panel test which is the hardest to fake the funk on, so i am living proof it can be done.

I know on my job that they are also looking for benzos. we had a memo come out last week detailing all the different types of drugs that they would be looking for in future tests and benzos were about #4 on the list. But, I definately agree with those who have already mentioned it, go ahead and be straight foward with them about what you have taken. Might as well, they are going to find out eventually.

Just go to your local head shop and ask for detox. Better safe than sorry.

Thank you for all of your help. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to go to get the detox stuff plus someone said that they test for the things people take to cover up drug use which I think may look things look worse than they really are. Does anyone know how many days 1 klonopin can be detected? There were about 50 people drug tested today and rumor is the entire plant is being tested this week so he may not be tested tommorow it could be the next day or some day soon. Will drinking plenty of water help? He is a thin guy with a very high metabolism I don't know if that will matter at all. They also fail you if your urine is to clear?? I think he should just tell him that he took the medication first before he is tested then he can just bring in the prescription bottle when it arrives. Thank you all for your help.

Someone mentioned to me that instead of drinking all water, which will affect density or something, weight, to mix it up, juices, especially white grapefruit juice, something about the acid in it, pickle juice, etc.
So in other words, does help to drink lots of liquids, just not all water.
Also, to "go" some before you put some in the cup.....
Just suggestions.......

It really hinges on whether they use a 5-panel or 10-panel detection test. The 5-panel will not show it, but the 10-panel will. Most companies go for the 5-panel because the 10-panel is so much more expensive. Also, if they are testing a large group(like you said), versus, a small random group, chances are they will only test every 6th urine sample(trust me on this one)and go for the cheaper test. Furthermore, they won't disqualify him for having clear urine, only if the urine has been diluted after being put in the cup(they can tell the difference by electrolyte balance, etc..)Worst case scenario, if he is well hydrated and his urine is clear, they may ask him to re-submit,(and by that time he will be clean) but they cant disqualify him. Drink, drink, drink. By the way, my family used to own a testing facility and these are industry standard responses. Best of luck.

Be really careful with grapefruit juice if you're looking to elude detection of most benzos. Grapefruit juice inhibits the metabolization of many benzos, extending the half-life.

I know I am probably answering this a little late, but check this site out anyway- also anyone else who has questions regarding drug testing specifics and/or regarding how much time certain drugs stay in the system...

My job tests for benzos also. When I took the pre-employment test, I had a legit script (my Dad had just died and a whole bunch of other stuff was going on)but I didn't want my employer to know I was on a "psych" med, so I used the product featured here, www.urineluck.com, and it worked like a charm! A friend that has a sometime weed habit told me about it...I would have never thought it would really work but it did! Well worth the 32.00, and I carry an extra in my purse in case I ever get hit with a random. It just has to be microwaved up to the right temp, since this is one of the first things that they look for. It is probably too late for the OP, but I would encourage anybody on here that might be subject to a random to get this stuff...PM me if you want more info

Dont worry about the Klonopin, they arent looking for that. I believe most drug tests are looking for the street drugs like weed, heroin, cocaine, estasy. Honesty is the best policy in this case too, just have your hubby write down he takes klonopin occasionally. You guys will be fine, let us know what happens. CTL.

PLEASE do not rely on this or any product that claims you can beat a drug test they DO NOT WORK!!! and if you do pass it is because of some other factor, if a product calls for a lot of water to be consumed it's the water helping to flush your system out and NOT the product, please do your own research ant not from a site that promotes it's own product

I don't know why, but the thought of carrying a bag of synthetic urine in my purse is just cracking me up.

My husband jokes that I have everything in my purse, now I can assure him that I'm missing my bag of fake pee.

I'm here to tell you that it DOES work. It is not a supplement..it is actually synthetic urine, that has been formulated to look and test EXACTLY like the real thing. I dipsticked it myself at home, just for snicks. The pH is just right, the creatinine is just right, the specific gravity is just right, the color is just right, etc etc etc. I KNOW BECAUSE IT WORKED FOR ME. The only issue is the temperature...it has to be exactly between 91 and 98 degrees, so it has to be microwaved and stashed in an area that is warm and out of sight, if you catch my drift. What it won't work for is an OBSERVED test, but these are usually reserved for court ordered tests, not employment screens. I will agree that most of the "cleansers" that are found in head shops DO NOT WORK, and additives that contain nitrate don't work either, as a lot of labs are testing for this now too. I know that the test I took specifically tested for nitrate because of this...you need to do some more research before you make a blanket statement like you did..there is NO WAY I would make this up.
