It depends. Lortab 7.5 mgs and vicoden 7.5 mgs have the same amount of hydrocodone, but lortab is available with 10 mgs of hydro also thus making it stronger. In contrast, vicoden is available in 5 mgs of hydro making it weaker than the above medications. Don't forget that different amounts of APAP are also available in the above medications also. Hope that doesn't confuse you more.

Both lortab and vicodin are available in the same strengths, they just have slight differences in the amount of tylenol they contain. Lortab 2.5/500, Lortab 5/500, Lortab 7.5/500 and Lortab 10/500 ---> Vicodin (5/500), Vicodin ES (7.5/750), and Vicodn HP (10/660). For each strength of med, the first number is the amount of hydrocodone in each tablet (milligrams) and the second number is the amount of tylenol in each tablet (milligrams as well).
