My doctor has been prescribing my percocet in 5/325 strength for pain for my condition.
I recently changed to Norco in 10/325 strength.
I have not taken hydrocodone for awhile but I "feel" it a lot more than the percocet.
I don't take these pills every day only about two days a week when pain becomes intense.
What I want to know is would Norco 10 be stronger than Oxycodone 5?
On an entirely unrelated note, I really wish that these medicines did not have Tylenol. Tylenol is a lot more dangerous than any of these controlled substances.
Any help on the strength of oxycodone vs. hydrocodone will be appreciated.
thanks guys.

My understanding that a Perc 5/325 would be roughly equivalent in strength to a hydro 7.5/325.

Why, are you getting verklimpt?!? LOL! I think it is kind of like switching shampoos; the little chemical signature difference makes it all surprised (your brain) and you get a different reaction.
Obviously I avoided chemistry like some avoid their exes, and it shows...but thanks to people like you and this board, I am reluctantly learning...
thanks

I agree with Opie_Yates Hydro 10/350 is as stronger then 5/350 Oxycodone (Perc's)
As far as the Acetaminophen goes when combined with Codiene or Hydrocodone they become SchIII drugs. Far less "dangerous" for your Dr to prescribe then schII drugs.
The AMA states 4000mgs per day ( 4grams ) of Aceta is OK
If you were on Perc's even with the tylenol they are still SchII
Now, you can get Codiene and Hydro without Acetaminophen but then they'd be SchII and you might as well get something better like Oxy without Aceta like Roxycodone 5mg
Best if kept off the board...why do I know so much about is ???

I usually take Norco 10/325, but ran out last week and had some percocet 5/325 that did not touch the pain like the Norco does. Weird, the pharmacist said ocycodone is 10x stronger than hydrocodone...could have fooled me.

I must agree with ya all on the issue of strength of oxcodone and hydrocodone. Untill recently, I had never taken oxycodone in my life. I was recently prescribed 5mg percocet, well i was expecting big things from all I had heard on the news, the boards and plain ole urban legend but to my shagrin, I would take a watson 10/500 any day over a percocet 5.
Keep it real,

I have taken both interchangeably. I definitely prefer percocets over hydrocodone. I have just gotten so used to hydrocodone as it is much easier to get. However, if I was asked which I wanted, percocets would win hands down.
