Does anyone know the effects of combining Flexeril and Hydro? I was prescribed both for two conditions and was told I "shouldn't" combine, as it would make me a little "loopy." Aside from loopy, does anyone have any further analysis to share? Thanks!

My reaction from combining Flexiril with Hydro is not good...not good at all. While I can't give you pharmacoepic or physiological reasoning for this assertion, all I can say is that it did not work AT ALL for me.
I used 1 10 mg Flex and a 10/325. Found it supressed my breathing to the point where I actually had to tell my body to breathe. Stumbled into furniture, couldn't put a sentence together, got nauseated, bad all around mojo.

I tried this combo once; though not as bad as Opie's experience, I felt extremely tired, out of it and totally "blah"- but Flexeril alone does that to me, anyway. Definitely don't take the 2 together unless you have hours to chill at home & see how it works on you.
Peace,
Julz
P.S. I dont think you'll be doing much

Julz...odd thing is, I can function on Flexiril, although it makes me a little sleepy. The Hydro was like adding something that was trying to suck the life out me. Very scary. We are all different, aren't we?

That we are, Opie. I think the reason why Flexeril & I don't get along is the rapid heartbeat thing- I'm pretty hyper to begin with- to make my heart beat faster than it already does is not cool! So, my heart's thinking I'm running a dang marathon while the rest of my body just wants to sleeeeep. Go figure.

I love that you say you're hyper and you have a freakin' hummingbird picture under your name!
This is an interesting board... I had no idea something like this existed... kind of like a mix between people who have a serious need for things (esp. pain pills) and people who are complete recreational users (ie. how much Oxy should I chop up?!?!).
Thanks again for your input... my doc gave me a sort of a sinister look when he said not to mix them, and it piqued my curiosity. After all, he didn't say "DO NOT take them together." LOL... but the things you two described doesn't sound like any fun at all.

Did your doc really presribe both and said don't take them together? Surely he would be aware of dangerous interactions and your pharmacy would warn you too. Good questions though, maybe someone else who has taken both together can shed more light on this than me, but be careful! CTL.

The pharmacist didn't say anything about takin them together. I took Flexeril for the first time last night and it knocked me out (yes, one little pill). I don't like the feeling at all, at it didn't really relieve my pain. I'll be sticking to the Norco when I need pain relief.
thanks!
