I was just curious if anyone has had a doctor check their previous medical records(Histories) without asking your permission? I recently went to a new pm doctor, and filled out a release form.
I know that the new HIPPA laws state that records cannot be released without a patients consent, but with computers nowadays, how reliable is that. Especially when I've read about Walgreen's telling doctors about their previous prescriptions. It infuriates me!! Not that I'm doing anything wrong, but what is the point of having a privacy law? It kinda of makes you feel a little violated.

Well you see now, once you sign that release, or consent, you are allowing them to share your personal info with others regarding your health history/treatment.
