I have used soma in the past, and find them to work great for muscle spasm, but since all variety contain tylenol and I would like to go as easy on the old filter as possible I was looking at alternatives.
Clickdrugstore.com has Tizanidine HCl , Zanaflex / Sirdalud by Novartis. From what I read on the board and from Medline Zanaflex looks to be equal if not better than Soma, but what is the Sirdalud part of the description?
Also I see the Zanaflex comes in 2 or 4mg. strengths, which is equal to 350 mg Soma?
I too would like to know this. They have different pharmacologies. Soma don't barely relax the muscles in my neck. I swear they make somas without tylenol... for example the brand they are discussing here http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/carisop_ids.htm
has no tylenol. I just ordered some robaxin. Another different pharmacology. I wonder how it compares to the other two, and if it doesn't work like the soma didn't, should I spend time trying to order zanaflex or flexeril?
Hi - I just wanted to mention that 99% of the Soma (carisoprodol) that is available from OPs contains no tylenol whatsoever, just 350 mg. of straight carisoprodol. You can find a price/OP list for Soma in the "Who Offers It? How Much? With Updates" forum.
I have tried both. The Soma works like magic! The Zanaflex works well too but I found that it puts me to sleep but then after it wears off, I am up for the rest of the night.
The Soma truely lives up to it's nickname-Soma Coma!
