Has anyone here (like me) mailed a letter, then RIGHT after mailing the letter forgotten to put on a stamp?
It was a self serve Post Office so there was no one to ask if I could stamp the letter, but I put a note with stamps under the door where the postman picks up the mail and a letter in the letter bin with stamps, both letters gave the name and address of the letter I sent without postage and asked the mailman to simply add the enclosed stamps for me. I also got a number to call early on tomorrow to POSSIBLE get the letter stopped before it's sent out and stamped in time. Oh, did I forget to mention the letter NOT having a return address?
So i'm simply curious if anyone has had this happened and what happened in there situation, or even what you think WILL happen. I'll keep you informed.

Have I ever forgotten to put stamps on a letter? Sure, I forget all sorts of things. I forget to sign checks, sometimes I forget and pay bills twice, I forget appointments, I forget metting people within hours of meeting them, I forget where I parked my car, I forget where I put my keys, I forget the names of my sister's kids, I forget what I had for breakfast this morning, I forget plots of novels and movies and TV shows. Basically, as the man said, I would forget my head if it wasnt screwed on.
Back on topic, if you're lucky they will send it "postage due". If you're even luckier the postman will have seen your note and gone to the trouble of correcting your mistake.
You're lucky in that you know this happened, so you can check to see if the letter arrived or not, and deal with it from there.
