Question re the VIP board
      #111655 - 10/30/03 08:27 AM

Hi all,

I am not sure this is the right forum, so I apologize in advance. Just wasn't sure where to place it. Basically I really would like to know your opinions on the VIP board. It doesn't seem to be very expensive, but do you guys think it's worth it subscribing?

Does it offer things I can't find on the regular board? Will I find more sources, are there more people to discuss topics with, etc.

Your opinions are appreciated, just want to know what I'd be getting myself into if I were to sign up. Thanks!

Red

The question is best answered by you. If you like the free area and would like to see it remain online: join the VIP area as a supporter. We offer a great free area for all. We are not like other free sites where the free area is just a sample or bait. At our site the free area is the best and contains most of the content. The VIP's support the free area, we all want a great free area. The VIP's / Supporting Members are the ones making the free area a reality :-)
All visitors are welcome, we do not put any pressure on free members to join as supporters. We value the free area and the free members a lot and to the point that most of our resources go to keep the free area. The question is not IS THE VIP AREA WORTH THE MONEY?, the question should be ARE YOU WILLING TO HELP US KEEP THE FREE AREA ONLINE?

I believe one of the main benefits of the VIP board is that you receive discounts for the OP's. As for the info, my opinion is that you can get most of what you are looking for on the free board. If you are curious, just sign up and see what you think- the folks over there are real nice too!

the VIP board is a great place with alot of vets that wax extreme knoweldge and have a bit more fun then the freeboards..you get remarkable discounts on OP's alot of information..more room to post about ''chit-chat'' more family type forums, everybody is really close and its a great place to be, i miss it i was gone for a while and need to subscribe so if you're asking the small amount of money is worth it, the info and discounts alone will make your money back in triple time,,see you there....

i am a VIP but, imo i actually find this board more entertaining. it seems like VIP's post on both boards but they're more "stodgy" over there. altho i do support the "cause" and think it's worth the money, just wish i could log on instead of being "lost" with no reason given.

DB Comments: You can not log to the VIP area because your suscription expired more than three weeks ago :-). We would love to have you back and thank you for your past support.

Miss Shade: Tea and crumpets, same time tonight ?
Pip Pip tallyhoo

VIP is just a different board running the same software with paid access. As far as "stodgy", the only thing I can think of is the lower tolerance for posts looking for a reliable source that can ship ketamine and oxycontin overnight on Sunday. I'm kidding I'm kidding :P Frankly it's just different in it's own unique way, but as far as OP sources, there are NO secrets there, well maybe an extra 10 bucks in VIP codes but no OP's or exclusive clubs. More info is always good IMO.

Ooops, one more, this is a must. BARNEY! I love you man, but are you serious about the inference that random group of ailing individuals #1 manifests personality flaws not to be found in random group of ailing individuals #2 ? I seriously think I'm going to wet my pants Maybe you're right, there was no waxing and waning of mood whatsoever in the aaameds/123/1stmeds threads at all on either board for the last week.
Here's the truth about why there is no "better" board: it's just a separate entity with a different login, that's the only difference. It's designed to maximize profit for the host, and doesn't offer a lick of exclusivity nor do any members even remember which board they're even posting on unless they actively look, so don't buy into any of the suggestions of elitism or stodginess, that is conceived by the purveyor only. I'd call it out if I see it because I truly do not care, I only care about common courtesy.

We get out of it what we put into it....

I hope you are not mocking Bo and his jihad against Canadian Re-importation!!! Now caramello51, you wouldn't want poor little Glaxo to lose a half-tick on their stock portfolio would you ?!?!? Ah ha, that's it. Wait, we're all in the same boat, this should all be moot anyway! To quote Chuck D, "power to the people".

Re: Question re the VIP board [Re: redhill]

Here's my story and I'm stick'n to it. I joined the freeboard and used my 3-day waiting period to read as many of the existing posts as seemed interesting. On the VIP side, you can post as soon as you join. Now, there's two sides to that coin. On the one hand, the VIP side has more first-timers posting on topics that are either already running or available through the Search Mode. On the other hand, the Freeboard seems to have less redundancy because some people are actually reading the posts instead of tripping off in la-la land, waiting for their three days to pass.

As for the "bang for the buck", I joined the VIP rank and file more for the support than what I could get out of it from discounts. ($10 off a $120 consult isn't much IMHO) As has been already reported, a lot of them are vets and you also have actual people from the OP responding to posts. It may going on here and I just never noticed. It guess it all boils down to personal tastes. If you can afford the monthly fee, give it try. You can always post on the Freeboard. In fact, upon join the VIPs most welcomes tell us not to forget the Freeboard so that why you get an overlap. I think there is a somewhat greater sense of community as far as "trust" can be extended in this electronic forum. I enjoy both boards. Will I renew in 6 months?... probably, just because I want to help keep BOTH boards up and running. But that's just an ol' fart's opinion....

Re: Question re the VIP board [Re: DrugBuyers]
      #112264 - 11/01/03 10:46 AM

"DRUGBUYERS"??? ACK!!
This was my first response when I found this web site on the internet. Being a Grandparent on Social Security I was searching for a cheaper way to purchase my medications. After hearing all the horror stories about buying prescription medications online, the name "DRUGBUYERS" threw me for a bit, yet I ventured inside to take a peek. What did I have to lose?

WHERE HAS DRUGBUYERS BEEN ALL MY LIFE?
I am happy to say not only did I join Drugbuyers Free Area, but I also joined the VIP Area to help support and give back to this amazing site. "DB" as it's known by it's Members, has become a lifeline for me. I can now obtain affordable medications safely and reliably. Who Knew?

WHAT A NICE SURPRISE!
In addition to now being able to obtain my medications affordably,"DB" also offers a wide variety of Forums and Tools to assist it's Members. The Forums are 'by the Members for the Members' who have their finger on the pulse of today's challenges regarding every aspect of buying medications on the internet. To mention just a few of these invaluable Forums, there is the "General Info & FAQ's" Forum about Domestic/International Pharmacies, the "Feedback" Forum where Members relate their personal experiences and knowledge, the "Who Offers It?How Much" Forums with the most recent data and prices of meds and even a "Pill ID" Forum to see pictures and receive identification by Members. Most Importantly, the "Blacklist" Forum with names of Scammers and places to Avoid! Ouch...I saw a few listed there I had contacted Before I found Drugbuyers!

COME ON IN!
If you are searching for a web site that offers just about everything you can think of regarding purchasing medications on the internet (NO ILLEGAL ACTIVITY ALLOWED) you have come to the right place. The Members you will find inside Drugbuyers come from all walks of life. They are caring, compassionate, intelligent and have an amazing sense of humor despite the medical conditions, pain, anxiety and illnesses we all endure daily. Don't be surprised when you find this awesome group known as the "DB Members" have become like a second family to you. They certainly have for me. I am proud and honored to to a Member of this online Community and therefore I cannot say enough, "Thank You Drugbuyers".

Just in case ya'll think I'm a little wacko and off topic...this is my "Testimony" for DB.

The VIP side seems more like a tight knit family community to me,just my opinion. When a newbie joins, especially someone from the Free board, I am always thankful to see a familiar face over there.Everyone is welcome and I try to help all equally. The VIP has a little more 'slack' for lack of a better word, and we sorta 'get by' with more horse play.

I like both boards, I think because the Free board has more members(?) it gets more daily posts, yet, the VIP side has sorta the established data with continued updates.

Like Sonick said, you get out of it what you put into it.

Yes, I did win a Membership for a Suggestion, but I paid for another year just the same, to help support DB. I'll do it again for all the help I get.

Barn~gonna miss you over there.

Jeremiah
I am one of the newbies that finally made it to the VIP, and so glad I did. And yes, you were the first to welcome me, thanks

You have such a marvelous way with words and I just love reading your posts, I truly do. Whether it be a forum that I am interested or not, if you have posted I will go there to read what you have to say. Anyway, your post about DB reflects my feelings also, you said it much better than I could have, it was a great post and my feelings exactly

There is a little more horseplay over there, especially with the Happy Hour forum. I think due to the fact that there are fewer members we get a better idea of each other's personalities. It truly is like a family--very intimate sometimes--with all the features of cohabitating.
There are the lurkers. There are people who know enough chemistry to win the Nobel prize. There are drama queens, goofballs, gurus, comedians, the list goes on and on......
You have most likely spent more money on worse things! Go for it, we would love to have you come and play with us!
