I have ordered from OP's several times now and each time I take a few pills, I always, and I mean always end up throwing them up, it doesn't matter if I eat something with the pills or not. I noticed that when I get my meds from Walgreens, I never get sick? Could it be that the OP's are sending me something other than vic's? Anyone else had this experience? Another thing is, I had my gallbladder taken out several years ago and since then my stomach has never been the same in terms of being able to digest certain things, could this be a side effect of digesting my pills? Any help would be appreciated!

The Walgreens by me uses Qualitest/Able brand hydro. It may be that the inactive fillers in Qualitest are more agreeable with your stomach than Watsons, which is typically what you get from OP's. It would be the first I've heard of that, but it's certainly possible
What do you do when you get nauseous? The best thing for opiate nausea is really just to lay down with your head propped slightly up.
I would start with whatever dose of pills doesn't get you nausea, maybe 1-2 pills, then take that for a while until you build up a tolerance to the nausea, then go ahead with the higher dose.
Did you have your gallbladder removed through cholecystectomy (open gallbladder surgery) or laproscopic surgery? If you had the open gallbladder surgery, have you discussed any possible treatments with your doctors regarding your stomach problems? They've made sure you don't also have IBS, right (common)? Are there any other medications you take that might contribute to the nausea? It's hard to say what role opioids might play in all this without the above information.
Edit: Also, how long after the surgery did the stomach problems start?
Good luck, feel free to PM me if you need.

Just my 2 cents as an RN, you might want to clarify that IBS means irritable bowel syndrome with its symptoms of diarrhea, cramping & I can't remember what else. CHITOWNLADY may not have heard the "IBS" jargon before. BTW-don't get me wrong, your input is always appreciated!

Yes, I definitely have IBS. It started immediately after my laproscopy. My main concern today is, Why do I keep getting sick from these pills? It doesn't matter if I take 1 or 3, I always end up with my head in the toilet. My hubby says it could be I already have liver damage? I never get this sick if the meds come from walgreens, osco, etc.... Any ideas why this is happening is appreciated!

Its sounds like the fillers with certain company brands is what is causing it. There are others like you that get sick from certain brands. I may get alittle weezy with some brands but never as bad as you. Hope you figure it out. Take care

Walgreens near me uses Watson (at least for the 10/500) peculiar. Interesting maybe not interesting factioid.
I don't know if its the fillers making you sick, if you are that sensitive to a filler, that's pretty sensitive - I'd be shocked if it's not the actual opiate that's making you sick... the latter is much more likely. Wow, that's bizarre! (I know, I'm REAL helpful huh? .)
If I take too much, I hurl... never made any other connection with it [shrugs]

Why does it madder what type of gallbladder surgery you had? I also had my gallbladder removed 11-00. I've had terrible stomach problems since then. For instance in the mornings if I eat before 8:30(I get up and go to work about 4:00 every morning) about 30 minutes after I eat my stomach will cramp and hurt so bad I'll get chill bumps and can't hardly breath because it hurts so bad. Then after that starts I better get close to a bathroom. Do they really have a med that would stop this or at least stop it from being so severe?

Yes Tiger, I heard their is a medicine out there for people that no longer have gallbladders and suffer from the stomach problems you described - let me do alitte checking and I will PM you OK? Thanks to everyone else who posted to my questions, I guess I just am very sensitive to the "fillers" as you guys say. What a bummer.

Do you smoke? There can be a reaction between nicotine and opiates.

Yes I smoke (alittle) maybe 1-3 cigs per day. Last time I ordered 7.5/500 Vics. Should I go down to the 5/500 next time?

I can't believe I'm reading this! I had a lap chole in '99, started with the same kind of stomach trouble a year later. Dx'd as non-colonic IBS, the pain can be incapacitating. Never realized there were others out there with the same thing!
