I work in the Air Division and can tell you what "probably" happened. The plane delivering the Air Packages was probably delayed due to a mechanical or weather related problem. They go ahead and send the drivers out as scheduled, and the supervisors will deliver if necessary, especially Next Day Air. Or, the package may have been put on the wrong truck , and the driver calls a supervisor to come and get the package so he doesn't lose time on his route. There are many scenarios which couldhave caused this, but the main goal is to make sure that the package gets delivered THAT DAY. Don't sweat it. I order and I work there!!!! I do prefer FEDEX for my deliveries for obvious reasons, but hey, for now it's legal!!! Take care, and by all means don't lose any sleep over it! KO

Grandma...do not let yourself be shamed by Pescadaro. I call him "Pesky" for a reason. You experienced something out of the ordinary, got a little concerned, and looked to the board for some support and advice. Don't let him get to you.

Yeah, my husbands a supervisor for the US postal svc & carriers can't go back out after 5pm...so if they have an overnight delivery that got missed, he'll go out & deliver it in his personal vehicle & street clothes...sure same thing happens w/UPS & Fed ex all the time....If it were a controlled delivery, you'd be in the pokey by now (ha) I wouldn't worry

That just increased my already high opinion of UPS - they have gone out of their way on several occasions for me, and I think they (IHMO) are incredible.

Hi Grandma and Welcome!
I wouldn't worry. The responses here are excellent. This is what makes a great board.
Aaamedsworldwide used to use USPS a long time ago. I remember once when I had a Saturday delivery and girl in blue jeans showed up and knocked on my door. Becuase I was not home to sign for the meds when the mailman came that day, they sent her about an hour later for re-delivery. She told me she was a contractor for the post office and worked on Saturday and Sundays doing this.

We ( UPS AIR) got 70 pounds of weed from a Florida addy a while back to be delivered here in Tennessee that was covered with oranges. They did a controlled delivery with the regular UPS guy, had the people sign for it, and then raided the place 5 minutes later. Believe me, when they do a controlled delivery, they make things as normal as possible as not arouse suspicion for the person who is recieving so they'll sign for it. Then LE goes in wide open and takes them down. That's the way it was done here anyhow. Later, KO
