Going in for my Anterior C5C6C7 surgery tomorrow. My neuro will be putting in the metal plates, three screws and fusion, not really nervous yet but looking for the nerves to kick in soon. After four back surgergies you'd think I'd be calm but this is my first throat slicing one. Everyone here is the greatest and I know I'm going to miss this place for a couple days(hopefully not weeks)...

Bring a laptop with you and maybe you can do some surfing while recovering if you can find the right phone line. (the free one! or a phone card).
Is it just me or do other people find themselves complimenting nurses and making passes when the demerol shots and the percocets kick in?
Make sure to get your records so you can get good meds at the OPs . Just kidding - they better dope you up good to handle the post surgical pain from that kinda surgery.
Not to make light of it, I've been there man - 2 spinal surgeries and lots of time in hospital beds recovering. Good luck to ya.
You might want to be safe though and change you profile location from "Hell"....

Surgery is tough.
I tried to just forget about it too.
The hardest part is showing up for surgery, that's when it hit me.

I just read your post, I am sure I am late and you are probably off to the hospital. Take very good care of yourself so you heal in record time. I will be thinking of ya tomorrow and say a prayer for ya. I hope to see back here soon

I have tried to send you my good wishes three times now. They must be having some trouble with the site. Anyway--you are in my prayers, too. I second Black Cat's sentiment that I hope they "dope you up good."  I often mention how grateful I am to have had a doc willing to prescribe oxycontin with Percocet for breakthrough pain when I shattered my femur in a car accident (I broke my sternum, too! OUCH!) May your doc be as humane as mine was  and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Any surgery can be nervewracking, and I certainly would be a candidate for depends undergarments with the prospect of what you are going through. I hope the surgery went well... I only saw this thread today, but you have my prayers for a speedy recovery. You take care, hun.

So sorry I missed you before the surgery. You had an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, right? How are you doin'? Are you wearin that dreaded c-collar? My thoughts and prayers are with you my friend.

I guess I'm a little late, but you hadn't hit your quota yet, so I had to put in mine. I hope you were sent home with 180 10/325 percocets and will be back soon.
