DrugBuyers.Com: USpharmacyRX is SHUT DOWN

Hot off the presses folks:

According to Carol, a CS rep I spoke with today, Sandy (their CS manager who is on vacation today - reportedly tanning on South Beach in a leather thong

while their customers suffer!) told her last night that they are closing down and won't accept any new orders for roughly 2 weeks while they "catch up and change a number of things".

I warned people of something like this happening over the past 3 days in several posts for a variety of reasons. Their new doctor started to decline orders, they prescribed 90 day pills with instructions to take 1 pill a day and most importantly they started running out of drugs. (e.g. No brand Norco and all generic hydro except some 7.5/750 and 5/500 were out of stock 3 days ago. Other people reported yesterday they were "out of stock" on xanax and soma.) My theory that they were running down their inventory and getting ready to shut down was correct. Perhaps they will be back in 2 weeks, perhaps not.

Here is what it currently says on their home page:

To Our Current And Prospective Customers:
Our online site is currently making changes to ensure that we comply with new pharmacy and medical board recommendations. In order to bring our site into compliance with these new recommendations, we will not accept any new orders at this time. However, we will complete orders placed on our website through October 23, 2003.

All refunds and credits are currently being processed and will be mailed to you within 5 business days.

My guess is this is going to be just like buymeds.com and if they re-open they may adopt new requirements for current physicals, current records and require actual phone consults with their doctor to get any meds.

You can still navigate their site to check order status, etc., but if you click on any of the drugs to check prices or availability you get raw code errors today.

Oh yeah, Carol tells me they won't be using C&V pharmacy when (if) they re-open even though it was touted by them as the panacea to solve all their problems with TDI by allowing them to automate shipping up to 500 orders a day vs. TDI's manual limit of 150.

The tide is definately turning toward records-based, phone consult domestic OPs. I wonder if Tropicalrx.com and Medpharmrx.com are next to "shut down" and change policies to require records and a consult even though they adopted this 90 wait period for some reason. My guess is it is just a matter of time.
