I'd like to order some buprenorphone. All the doctors in my state are unable to take any new patients. I'm desperate.

I know I shouldn't follow up to my own post but I wanted to clarify something. I'm not looking for temgesic. I want subutex or subuxone that comes in 8mg pills. Temgesic only comes in .2mg pills. I am desperately in need of a maintenance dose and can't find a doctor to take care of me.

You'd be suprised just how affective 200mcg 3 times a day is for the purpose you mention.

Impossible. You need to get it in the U.S. It's from a British company. I'v only seen it for sale as Temgesic and Siam generic. Both from Thailand are 0.2-mg sublingual tabs. Buprenex can be prescribed for pain in the U.S. as a C-III. Temgesic is not marketed in the U.S. The doctor needs to take a 1-day Bupe School unless they're Board Certified in an addiction specialty.

I'm sorry Trampy, but I don't understand what is "impossible". Is it impossible to get it in the US or to get it online at all? I just posted about temgesic in a different thread and in all my searching, that's the closest I've ever found to suboxone available online. Because of the new standards for suboxone/subutex it is impossible to get it online (at least it was impossible for me to find!). If it IS available online in the suboxone/subutex form I'd love the info.

'Bup' used to treat opiate/opioid addiction is dispensed in 8mg or 2mg doses. One blister pack of 0.2mg temgesic would be barely sufficient for one minimal dose of 'Bup' at these treatment levels. Most common treatment is 8mg/day tapering down to 2mg/day over 7-10 days. Only Docs with addiction specialty are allowed to dispense 'Bup' in this fashion. There are almost no doc's doing this, so the whole program is another big farce in the "compassionate" agenda

I am just clarifying, did you type suboxone into your search engine? There are a few sites, look under there, then you will find a dr. locator. Is that what you used?
Did you tell these dr. that you need to be on suboxone, and there is no one taking in any new patients. Call a hospital or a physcologist SP? An addictionalogist also takes in suboxone patients. Hope this helps

The suboxone program is reportedly absloutely fabulous for those addicted to opiates. Problem is that the doctors that are "certified" to prescribe this can only treat 30 patients at a time and that includes any on "maintenance" dosages. A person really has to talk to the doc prior to deciding if that's the doc they want. The prescribing schedule for the first week is pretty regulated by the "federal program guidelines", but after that it is up to the discretion of the doctor. Some will continue to prescribe indefinately for those patients who need maintenance doses, others stop all meds after one week because the physical wd is over by then. Each doctor does that differently. Each doc also seems to start the program differently. Some require that a patient go as long as 24 hours without any opiates before taking the sub, others start in as little as 4 hours. It depends on the doc.
One of my best friends is a nurse in a detox unit. They do not use sub, because they use the IM of buprenex (for 3 days ONLY - then no meds after that). Anyway, she says that her detox will NOT use bup for patients addicted to oxycontin or methadone unless they have titrated their usage down. I forget the exact level, but she said that if they are on too high of a dosage of oxy or meth, the bup will do absolutely nothing for them. She also tells me that the patients there state that the worst drug to get off of is methadone, followed by oxy, THEN comes alcohol, THEN heroin! Amazing that methadone is more addicting than the drug it was designed to kick!

And heroin was designed to be less addictive than morphine.
There's another thread here where someone's doctor treating his pain gave him methadone so he could stop taking OxyContin and not suffer withdrawals. Now that's amazing ... and illegal too. Under federal law it's illegal to use methadone for detox outside a detox clinic licensed by the state.
To answer the question: Subutex and Suboxone are very tightly controlled and only sold in the U.S. on prescription of specially licensed physicians. They are not sold by any OPs.

Nope. Any doctor with a DEA # can take the 1-day Bupe School and then be able to prescribe Subutex and Suboxone in an office setting. Board certification in addiction means they can skip the 1-day school and apply directly for the special license. Is there an echo here?
