Is there any eye drops that will actually dialate my pupils. I hate going to work with my pupils so tiny from the vicodin I am currently taking. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Constricted pipels are asign of excessive opiod intake. Decrease the amount you are taking and your pupils will begin to regain their dialation capability.

Tropicamide drops are used by eye doctors to dilate the pupils, but it wouldn't be advisable for you to do this to yourself.
For one, your pupils would completely dilate--making you appear even wierder than you would with pinpoint pupils (miosis). Another problem is that UV rays would get into the eyes without the natural protection of the pupils' ability to open and close as needed.
Most problematic would be the visual disturbances, possible equilibrium problems and even headaches and nausea.
Miosis is a problem that often goes away or lessens as a person's dose of opiates is regulated or decreased. For those of us on high-end opiates (especially morphine), miosis is just something we have to live with.
Best of luck!

honestly, I doubt this is noticable AT ALL to those around you.....if you work in an office with average lighting, pupilary contstriction is VERY individual...and to the trained eye...reaction to light & return to size would be scrutinized vs simply what your pupil size is....

I have to agree with Night_Shade completely. Since I suffer from ocular migraines which started after my 2nd detached retina surgery, I must have my eyes checked every 3 months, which means getting my eyes dilated. And all of us know, that after we visit our eye doctors and have this procedure done, they always make sure that you wear sunglasses when you are leaving, and for good reason.
UV rays can be very harmful to your eyes and can cause permenant damage, and now every time I have my eyes dilated, I'm in a lot of pain for several days, especially when I'm in bright sunlight. And the pain that I suffer from the bright sunlight, is even worse than my ocular migraines and there is not a pain med out there that will help. And Night-Shade is also right, it messes up your equilibrium, depth perception and you will be doing a lot of "praying to the porcelain God" in the bathroom.
I always had perfect eye-sight for most of my life until the detached retina thing happened to me. Please, please, please, take my word for it, your eyesight is a very precious thing and most of us take it for granted until something bad happens to our sight, and messing around with your eyes "for the sake of vanity" or to hide your use of a prescribed medication for pain, is just not worth it. Besides, I'm sure most people don't even notice it.
And I guess that is my "Mom" lecture for the day

I wouldn't worry about that at all. You don't want to dialate your pupils, that almost looks more guilty actually. Most people know nothing about the opiate pupil constriction. No one would likely notice it, MUCH LESS put it together.
If you are dead set on doing this though, Belladonna will dialate your puplis, but I really don't recommend it. It can also cause damage to your eye, letting in too much light.

I totally agree with Stella Blue, worrying about the size of your pupils sounds like a guilty reaction. If you are taking Vicodin as prescribed for a medical condition, and your pupils are noticably small as a result, you have nothing to worry about. If somebody in your office has mentioned it, they have too much time on their hands, and a little too much personal knowledge of the affects of opiate abuse!
