Follow up to "mental Image"
      #107760 - 10/15/03 01:40 PM

Hey everyone,

I just spent quite a few minutes reading through the thread below this one. "Mental Image of fellow users". It was so fun!!

I could not believe how many of you I thought were actually men, and it turned out you were all female around the same as me. I am also female, 29 years old with long brown hair and green eyes.

The reason I started a new thread here is that I wanted to elaborate on that mental image a bit more. Why don't we post our picturs here so that we no longer have to guess what everyone looks like. I think that would be fun. Hey, and maybe for those single people out there (not me!!) maybe there will be some love connections? I can not think of a better love connection than with someone who already understood what I have been going through with my back pain.

Anyway, just a thought. I think my husband knows how to make a URL on a spot on his website and he then can add pictures there. No one that goes to his website would see it unless they clicked on some random spot, which they would not do.

So, I will show you mine, if you'll show me yours (hee hee). Oh boy, that sounded bad, but you know what I meant right? Isn't there a way that we can scan our pictures and post them somewhere for DB user's to see?

Hope this does not sound lame or I am going to feel quite stupid. Its not a huge deal, just thought it would be cool to actually know what some of you look like, especially since I have really become pretty good friends with several of you!

Please let me know your thoughts on this matter!!!!!!!!!!!

Flea,

It would be cool, but I would be nervous that some of the people on this board are really FBI spy's I know I am paranoid, but really if my picture got in the wrong hands such as media or the dea, I will be on 10 most wanted list, LOL. I know not that severe, but it would be fun to see if anyone makes a love connection

I am engaged so I am not looking but I am sure several members here are single.

Yea, I guess you are right, but I would think that if the DEA or anyone trying to bust people, that they would be able to do so with or without our picture. However you did bring up a good point though. I suppose people would be a little concerned with their privacy issues with regards to posting their pictures on here. I guess I am just sort of clueless when it comes to that. I forget that there are people out there that could turn our chronic pain into a sensationalized "cover story". I would feel just horrible if something like that really happened.

Oh well, just thought I would try. But really, good thinking.

I feel so sad that just because the media has grown to "label" anyone who is using pain medication that people like us are not really free to do as we would like. Even with something as little as swapping pictures with someone that like myself, may be living with similar pain issues.

What a bummer, but hopefully one day there will not be a "stigma" placed on those of us that want to live a normal, happy, and most of all - -a pain free life. When that time comes I say we rent out a cruise ship and have our first ever Drug Buyers Convention. I say we cruise on down to Mexico.......ah, a girl can dream can't she???

Well that's pretty cool - how did you blank out your face like that?

I used a "blur tool", a paintbrush, then a "smudge tool" in Adobe Photoshop. never can be too careful I guess LOL (hopefully giving that tid bit out doesn't lead to a way to undo my handywork there .)
It leaves just enough to the imagination, at least you all can see that I have stylish hair

I really, really like your hair cut! I'm trying to let mine grow out, but can't decide on what I want. Hope you don't mind me printing a copy to take with me on my next visit to the beautician. The only problem is by the time my hair gets long enough to cut like your's, it will be out of style. How do you get it to "flip out" like that?

no I don't mind. I was shocked how many compliments it got... well GETS. I cut off 18 inches when I got that done, no regrets or "scissor shock" like I was expecting either.
It remains spikey and where I place it by means of a lot of "product". I spend obscene amounts of money on my darn hair, it's my one major unjustified extravagance... OK that's BS, I'm a girl, I have a lot of "extras". Mostly I use Aveda products though and any Aveda store could direct you in what to use for that effect with your hair. I also use "Sumo Wax" by "Bumble and Bumble" - they are some NY based co, wonderful that wax though (my FAVORITE product by far!) Aggressive blowdrying gets desired results as well.
