Here is a unique question!
      #107280 - 10/13/03 01:33 PM

My friend, marie, who uses a very reputable OP called on 9/25 and asked when her next refill will be due. The man states....It is actually due now. Your dr wrote the script for 30 days but it ended up in our computer wrong so I will refill it today. You next refill can be refilled on 10/10. The bottle arrives and says 10/10. She calls today and they are telling her...
NOPE! No one ever told you that, that is not how we operate...you now have to wait 30 days plus the days you refilled that script on 9/25 early...we aren't shipping any meds our to you until sometime in Novemeber.

Now I use that same place. I personally think:
1. don't tell a patient she is lying
2. don't make her pay the price because someone did refill it early and she did not even ask...she asked WHEN it could be refilled and they offered it then....Who wouldn't say yes??????/

What are your thoughts????/

I am just shaking my head in disbelief at the way THEY are handling this problem.

When she first called today they told her the 16th of Oct but when she explained what happened last month, their tuned changed to sometime in November.

I am wondering if she should contact the owner of the site or do you feel this is okay of them???

I would be fumming if it was happening to me.

Well, if she is using her meds like she is supposed to, then she should have enough meds to last till November. If she is using more because she thought she could, then she will run out.

The pharmacist on duty should have caught the early fill and called your friend. That would have been the right thing to do but maybe someone got caught up in giving her the wrong information and doesn't want to fess up.

I doubt if she will be able to talk the RPH into filling it early again as this will put them in danger of getting in trouble with the Pharmacy Board.

A really tough thing for her to be in and I hope she works through it. She could always suplement her meds?

Just a thought.

Okay, without trying to add too much detail...A pharamist is the ONE who filled it for her early!!!!! He answered the phone when she called asking!
I am in the middle because she just went away to pur beach house with me and my family. Are you ready for this one? Please believe me because really I have to stake in this other then a long ride. We were talking and she said to me on Sunday, well since I can refill my script so soon and I have enough, I am leaving this extra stuff here at the beach house so I am not empted to take more then I should. I will have 20 extra days worth and I don't want them in my purse. I said, great...I would never do that but if you can, great, leave them here for our x-mas vacation.
That is exactly what she did. She left them at my husbands and I's beach house. This means a 5 hour ride for me each way to get her extra meds.
All I am saying is Best if kept off the board, someone should step up to the Best if kept off the board plate and admit that is what they said to her!!! That man today pretty much told her, I don't beleive what you are saying. Her point is, how can you NOT believe what I am saying since you SEE right in front of you that you filled my script early last month.

She has just enough to last her for ONE MONTH meaning she needs them within 30 days of the early refill. He is saying sometime Nov and she thinks that is wrong to make her (and me) pay the price of driving 5 hours because of misinformation by the person who filled them on the 25th.

See her point? She even told him...Please add another 10 days onto my refill for January so I don't have to take an extra ride because by then I would have them in my hand...NOPE was the answer!

Yeah, supplementing would be a choice which she will probably have to do.

A pharamist was suppose to call her back today to tell her EXACTLY who took that refill order on the 25th when she called to find out when she could refill them but he never did. Not like this place to be acting like this.

Thanks for your comments!

Well, good luck with this one but it sounds as if someone goofed and are now unwilling to make it right, otherwise they would have to admit they made a mistake.

I vote for the supplemental!

I empathize with you...but...they have to operate within the laws of the state their practicing in...and if they filled one script too soon...the point of the pharmacy is, sorry, but if your taking them as prescribed, it's a moot point....you have the same amount of medication as if you'd refilled it when it was actually supposed to be filled.
And...it seems like it would have made more sense to leave them safely stored somewhere at her home....rather than putting you in the middle....maybe she would be willing to take a trip up if necessary, to collect the stored meds...I mean 5 hours is a long ride...but could be done in a weekend(at the beach no less) if relly necessary...I'm not trying to be mean...but I think I'd offer her the keys to the house & that option.....

What's the big deal, she has the correct amount of meds to last her until Nov. when the next refill is due. Just because she got one refill early dosen't mean she will allways get it. Peolpe make mistakes. If your "Friend" was so concearned, she shouldn't of taken the early refill.

You know what? I really RESENT those little quotation marks you have there. I have been a member of this board a long time and have offered some good support. I am NOT double dipping or posting my FRIEND because it is myself. If I felt you were worth my time and effort, I would PM you the OP she uses and you could verify it yourself. There are MANY people on this board who have friends, bosses, relatives, etc using OP and the members here post about there friends experiences.
If there is anything in my life I hate, it is a liar. So please don't be making any remarks, comments, quotations about me being a liar myself.
PLUS, if I were stupid enough to be using 2 scripts a month, don't you think I would be using different OPs rather then the same one...Not to mention that 8 pills a day are way tooo much tylenol?
I don't come on these boards for people to question if I am telling the truth. If you want to play the FBI, play it with some of these shaddy OP's, will you???
Like I said, I would of NEVER left my pills 5 hours away but I do believe she had her own reasons. Her daughter who lives with her is a crack head and she has to lock her pills up...Having extra is just a burden. Plus the fact she herself would of been tempted to take extra meds.

Yes giving her the keys is certainly an option! My husband will freak but that is okay since I would avoid a 10 hour ride roundtrip myself.

Thanks for most of your opinions. It isn't that I don't want to hear that she is stupid because I agree....I did look at her weird and suggested leaving them was dumb but based on her reasons, I went along with it. I just don't want people thinking she took extra meds or worse, i am her. That is NOT my style nor game.

I know this response is to someone else...but I just wanted to say, I didn't mean to offend you...and I certainly believe you...I just thought that since she was the one who chose to leave them there, whatever her reasons were, it is kind of unresonable for her to expect you to go retrieve them.....but honestly...you have to do what's best for you...I know you're trying to help...but sometimes people have to solve their own problems...but I didn't mean to imply your situation wasn't what you said it was or your fault at all...sorry
