I know that mixing Tylenol and alcohol is very dangerous as I have a 21 year old nephew who has just had a kidney transplant because of this combination. Ibuprophen is not good for the liver. That is the ONLY thing that helps the pain in my elbow. I LOVE Aleve that states to take one and then if it doesn't work, take another. Well, 2 is what does the job but I'm not interested in taking it every single day for the rest of my life. NOW...is that why they have come out with Vioxx? Is there no bad side effects to the liver or any other? Why does this need to be by prescription only and WHY the outrageous cost?? I suppose if the side effects are minimal, it may be worth a try as I have heard that it does work but come on, to pay through the butt to take something that may be safer and only accessible by prescription....does that make ANY sense? Any input would be greatly appreciated as always!!
I have a scrip for this stuff, a little off-label since its for long term pain treatment that is not arthritic. It works very well on certain kinds of pain. In fact, a 50mg pill works about as good as 2 hydrocodones 10/325 on the pain I have. It makes me so sad its so expensive, cause I only have to take one in the morning and it lasts well into the night. They say it should be safer as far as most abdominal problems go, and the clinical trials support that to a certain extent. I guess it has to come as an rx only because they get to charge more or something.
