SPAM via PMs
      #106236 - 10/08/03 06:18 PM

Is everyone getting Private Message marketing pitches for their advertisers from DB? They say the sender is Drugbuyers, not the company itself. I've gotten at least three in the past week and today asked DB to stop sending them to me.

I've been getting them also. At first, I was going to tell them to stop but I figure if they are telling us about specials from OP's we wouldn't otherwise find out about I decided not to.

:-)
It is not really SPAM as the messages clearly say who sends them and you have an easy way to stop receiving them. SPAM is something you can not avoid.

At this time we are testing this form of delivering messages. We do not have a way to exclude usernames yet.

Will try to find a way :-) as it in not our intention to bother any member.

So far most feedback about this has been positive.

Thanks

DB, I think they were just making sure the messages came from you and not someone else trying to make it seem like you.

Agree it is not SPAM as DB explained . . . we have control & DB does a very good job w/quality & small volume of PMs! One challenge though I see to a small extent is the same observation although at a smaller scale - at times DB does scrub & edit some posts for arguably unwarranted reasons. Overall though this board is managed nicely relative to most others. Like everything room for improvement.
