Please excuse my ingnorance, but a friend of mine started taking Codipront today, and I have no clue what it is and it's effects and everything. She said it's safe etc...., but she's my best friend and I want to be sure she's not taking any med that's gonna hurt her. I'd appreciate any response.
Thanks in advance-

As I recall, these capsules contain 30 mgs of codeine, plus 10 mgs of the antihistamine phenyltoloxamine, which can be sedating. In addition, I don't believe phenyltoloxamine has been approved for use in this country. Why? Not sure. . . possibly adverse side effects in some individuals. This med is primarily designed for cold and flu syptoms. Because of the phenyl., I would advise against gobbling more than 2 or 3 of 'em at a time.

Phenyltoloxamine Citrate is found in Percogesic's and Mobigesic and similar generics. Both of these items are sold over the counter in this country (USA) and is usually in combo with tylenol. It is also used in a muscle relaxer Flex ? It is legal in this country.

All right, Creole -- Thanks for rectifying my error; I was misinformed, or out-of-date. I could be wrong, but I think phenyl. was NOT approved for use in the U.S. 5 or 6 years ago. This, evidently, has changed.
Cheers, everyone.
