Side effects of diazapam or any benzo are the same. They usually include shaking, convulsions, seizures, death(there are other side effects). If you quit 2 weeks ago I would imagine you are experienceing something other than withdrawl, as benzo withdrawl usually occurs 24-48 hours after your last dose, depending on the benzos half life, how long you been taking the med, and the daily mg dose. I've never seen a withdrawl symptoms last more than 24-48 hours, its usually the rebound insomnia thats a bear.

Ummmm....
I've had many friends addicted to high-dose benzos. If you are heavily addicted, withdrawels last 1-2 years (not necessarily the convulsions, but insomnia, irratibility and attention span loss, among other things)! Those I know who have been addicted to both say benzo's are far far worse than opiates after you're really addicted to them. But I'm sure its probably subjective. Good luck! I'd have tapered off slowly if Iwere you.

From my psychiatric nursing book:
Side effects from benzo w/d can vary from person to person but can include: anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, depression, and distorted sensory perception.
Symptoms can peak at 3-4 weeks, and yes, they can last for over a year....the severity DOES lessen with time, though.
A taper is the best way to w/d from benzo's....in an inpatient detox, the drug is tapered over 2 weeks then stopped. A lot of times, another benzo is given as well to help with the taper - then THAT drug is tapered as well.
MY experience with getting off of Klonopin?? Nothing!! I had a bit of anxiety but nothing else, and I had taken it for over two years!!
Good luck!!
