Today's mail brought a letter from Dr. Faloon who is the president of the Life Extension Foundation. These guys are on our side. They also fight for patient rights to puy expensive meds from Canada or anywhere else in the world. Jerry Falwell (he's no reverend) got the FDA to attack those who fight for what the LEF does: to ensure we have rights to buy prescription meds outside the USA. This came after a libelous editorial authored by Jerry Falwell against Life Extension appeared in the Washington Post on July 8, 2003. According to the letter I received today from Dr. Faloon, 'Eight Days later, an FDA inspector paid a visit to Life Extension's head quarters and initiated an intrusive multa-day inspection.' Besides the above action, the FDA said that the LEF research doctors would not be allowed to repost/publish there findings to the public. In orher words, where their findings might relate to addressing pain issues, they must refrain from using the word 'pain' due to the draconian law insisting on FDA approved nomenclature. The letter suggests that its members buy a three month supply of whatever they buy from LEF because the FDA might shut them down, and it may take a while before the LEF legal team gets their word heard in the courts. I am afraid this hunt might affect us and soon; thus, the Hunt for the Red October may have a twin message and this one will not have a happy ending.

Hello Y'all,
I just wanted to say that I placed an order yesterday 9/15 and they were delivered this morning from Dr. Avello and from Miami as well. They seem to be running fine except I never received a email with the tracking I had to get that from there website. Also they are using Speedyscripts now and also shipping UPS.

I have been receiving their magazine monthly for awhile now. I have no idea who put me on their list, but LEF does have some valid points, and Yes, I believe them to be on our side as well.
This month features a 'generic' form-letter to send to our Senators about the Pain Act about to be before the Senate and Congress.(I believe the Senate has already voted in favor)
May be interesting, especially for us, to post this data in this forum so others can contact their Reps and help push this through into law. What do y'all think?

I don't have a scanner,but I will type it. Bare with me.
Date_________
The Honorable Senator______________
Washington,D.C. 20510
Today's health care cost crisis can be mitigated if Americans are allowed to import lower priced,FDA-approved drugs from other countries.
On July 25,2003,the House passed the Pharmaceutical Market Access Act of 2003 (H.R. 2427) by a margin of 243-186. This bill will enable Americans to access lower-priced medications from other countries that are identical to those sold in the United States. The bill mandates strict quality control standards that will make imported drugs as safe as those I buy in my local pharmacy.
This same prescription drug importation bill has been introduced in the Senate. I urge you to put your full support behind the House's version of The Pharmaceutical Market Access Act of 2003(H.R. 2427).
Please confirm to me in writing that you will vote YES for the drug importation bill,(The Pharmaceutical market Access Act of 2003).
Sincerely,

Cool!
Same here,in the mailbox ready for pickup in the am.
You know,we fuss alot about the prices of meds, yet when something like this comes along where OUR VOICES CAN BE HEARD, and there are more of us than the Pharmaceutical reps, it seems there aren't too many who will take the time and send a simple letter at a cost of .37
I see it like this..if you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem. If this doesn't get passed, we are the reason why. It is my understanding, this is the closest we have ever been.
Way to go,Lovepink!

I don't know, but that seems impossible to me. We can't tell other countries what to do with their meds.

I'm no expert, but I think that a lot of the pharmacuticals are made here in the good ol US of A, shipped abroad at ridiculously cheap prices. We are just buying back those same meds at a lesser cost.
Like I said, I'm no expert, so any comments are welcomed from someone who knows.

That's the way I understand it too,Moonbeam. We are buying back our own meds(mostly) at a heck of a lot cheaper price than we pay here. What a Shame.
